Hey guys, just ordered a Lenovo T500 running at 1680x1050 with this card: ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB. Obviously I didn't buy this laptop for gaming but... how does it compare to an nvidia 9600m?

Currently I'm on the base Macbook Pro and I run Left 4 Dead and TF2 at native, 1440x900 with pretty smooth framerates. I'm trying to get an idea of how the T500 will handle any of the source games.

    Thanks!

Hi Luke. I'm going to sell the Macbook Pro. It's a great machine but it was sort of an impulse purchase. A PC better fufills my daily requirements.

should be only slightly slower than the 9600. you should be fine with most games on medium-high settings.

I play COD W@W maxed at native res with my lappy :), btw my card is an HD3650 512mb. I get around 26-32 FPS. I would say at least for me the HD3650 is a modest gaming card.

BTW in my humble opinion the 9600gt is just like 18% more powerful than the HD3650 is much but you could game fine without that power.

Okay, so it sounds like I can pull off L4D and TF2 at native resolution. I'll just have to tinker with the settings a bit. Good to hear!

Yes you will run L4D and TF2 medium/high settings with no problem. Also how much will you sell the mac?
