Curious if there is a game out there that would more or less satisfy any gamer out there. Something that would appeal to anyone that at least likes to play games? Any ideas or is this even possible?

I would say:
The Wolf Among Us
The Walking Dead pc game-Season 1 or Season 2 -
Defense Grid, Stanley Parable.
Stanley Parable was amusing. Played with my girlfriend and she and I enjoyed seeing the endings play out differently.
Defense Grid was another game we both enjoyed. She has a touch-screen DV6 with the A10 APU, and the game worked efficiently.
I only mention her as a reference point, since she is a more casual, and since I play a lot more 'hardcore' games (I waste much more time, anyway...) I feel like this could answer your question better than my own gut reaction to say DotA or Titanfall or something of that nature, since I've enjoyed both of those games too.
Edit: I realize this doesn't take genre's into account... some may not like Tower defenses, and some may not like adventure, but I feel like these two are 'stand-out' enough to go beyond the crap in the genre. Then again, you could say the same about any great title... -
Original Deus Ex. GOAT PC game.
Human Revolution also a great entry point into the series for the modern crowd. Invisible War never existed. -
Plant vs Zombie? cross-platform but still..
For PC PC, Sims? I know people who only plays sims and nothing else..gdansk likes this. -
The Sims is a good nomination. It's known for appealing to an unusually wide audience, and there's an aspect of it that's fun even if you also like more "hardcore" games. Easy to relate to, easy enough to pick up and start playing... a good nomination.
Goat Simulator is an interesting nomination. I haven't played it myself, but it appears to go on the premise of being simple, silly, and fun. I can definitely see the potential for it being a game where seeing someone playing it could make you want to play it, even if you don't often play games.
Deus Ex is not a good nomination. It's a great game. But unfortunately some people don't like it. I know someone who doesn't like it because it has 2000 graphics. So, graphics-ists may not like it. There also is more of a learning curve (controls and stealth, for example) than some of the other nominations. And generally, I think first-person combat is a poor genre to nominate. While popular, not everyone who likes to play games likes games with violence as a significant aspect of the game.
I personally veto almost all tower-defence and platformer games. I've never got the appeal of those. Plants vs. Zombies is okay, but mainly because of the premise and the humorous plants and zombies. I can't think of a single other tower defence or platformer game I've liked, PC or otherwise. -
I chose Deus Ex partly because it's my personal favorite, but mostly because it's one of the best genre-agnostic games I know of. RPG, FPS, adventure gaming, stealth, exploration, narrative--it's all in there. Deus Ex is an RPG, not an FPS, although you could certainly play it like a shooter, but that's the beauty of it. You have choices, your choices have consequences, and there is morality, but it's not black and white. You can go in guns blazing, or not kill a single person, or simply explore the world, interacting with different characters and helping them out, or not helping them.
If outdated graphics are a show-stopper, like I said, Human Revolution is a great entry point into the series for players with more "modern" tastes.
Spiritual relatives of Deus Ex would be System Shock 2 and the more shooty BioShock. These are widely considered some of the best PC games ever, for good reasons, but I personally like Deus Ex the most. -
Dark souls I or II
-
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Has a bit of everything. If the ladies could ignore the offensive material, I think they would enjoy it too. -

Id say any sort of fun puzzle game would satisfy. Something just relaxing and well...fun!

Hot seat Worms game.. Funny and tactical

As much as I love Deus Ex, it's not for this category at all... oddly at first thought, Defense Grid stood out to me out of all posted titles that would be my vote as well. It's got the simple to approach gameplay of Plants v. Zombies yet takes it further in both gameplay and graphics to attract a lot of preferences. Problem with straight Adventure games and Sim type games is many players (me included) just simply don't like most of them... Walking Dead series included.
Tetris would be my ultimate vote, as I honestly don't know anyone that doesn't like Tetris if they actually give it a fair try. -
Terraria, accessible for all ages and all gamer types. Runs on just about anything too. It is well on the way to becoming a true classic.

Peggle. Bejeweled.
-
Robocraft...

"What film would anyone enjoy?"
..but good nominees could be Sly Cooper 1, 2 & 3.
Might&Magic: Clash of Heroes (puzzle quest, except it's not an utterly boring system. And the writing is hilarious).
Patapon?
Shadow of the Colossus?
Little Inferno (same people who made World of Goo)?
Luftrausers?
Limbo? -
My vote would go for Portal 2.

Haha, yeah! Psycho Soldiers, to the fore!

The answer obvious is the Peggle series.
-
Bejeweled comes to mind.

Not really a game in the traditional sense but my non-gamer peers seemed to enjoy " Dear Esther".

(To be fair, I haven't tried many puzzle games since the first couple I tried were a lot more frustration than fun. But I don't have much confidence in them. Probably will give Portal a try at some point though since I already have it... if it's good perhaps I'll re-evaluate puzzle games)
What would be one PC game anyone could enjoy?
