Hey guys, I got my m1530 a few days ago and I LOVE IT! Coming from a Q6600, 8800 GTS, system it wasn't such a move back as I thought considering I'm not a hardcore gamer, and don't mind gaming at lower resolutions.

Anyway to the point, I'm looking for the best "cfg" file I think they are for playing Crysis at 1280x800, so far I've used RivaRuner to OC my 8600m GT to 550/1100/702 and I get around 18-23 FPS according to FRAPs which is decent but I was wondering if I could get a little more as I've already disabled shadows (low) and shaders are on medium, I'm not a graphics junkie so I'm not overlly bothered. Would anyone suggest OCing to 600/1200? I currently get 76 C so pushing further might be a bit of a risk. I idle at 60 C.

Sorry about the long post >.<, ok hit me with ideas.

You can OC more, that's not really a siginificant OC you did. The temp is okay, you shouldn't worry before at least 90.

I second this. Someone who has done research and tweaking for an 8600m gt clocked at about 500 / 700 or more should post their custom cfg file.

Overclock to a comfortable level and no more.

Is there a need however to OC the memory? I thought I should focus on the cure. I'm going to test Crysis in the morning with 600 and hope for the best, till then movie time ^.^. I can't believe how sexy the LG screens are @.@.

Ok I tried 600/1200 for about 10-15 minutes it was late so couldn't go for too long, I got 78 C load and stayed above 20 FPS even reaching 30 at times. Would anyone suggest upping the memory?

You can download AtiTool (0.26 if you have XP, if Vista then get the 0.27 beta). And click on the option Scan for Artifacts. If you can run it without artifacts for a while (let say more than 1 hour if you are patient), then you can try increasing.

Temperatures are safe below 85°C, but you should check if you get any kind of artifacts (that's why i said get AtiTool).

If you have a 8600m-GT you know the memory is 700MHz, I think increasing that to 1200 is simply too much and I believe it may not be stable for long.

No overclock, but with my 8600M GT DDR3 I run (at least the demo) at 1024x768 (or maybe 800), all high except textures and shaders on medium, shadows on low. Shaders on anything less than medium turns Crysis into something not-so graphically special. Since that is the bigges reason to get the game, that is just WRONG WRONG WRONG. :)

I have my 8600 OC'ed to 600/1200/900, and I get 20-26 FPS with Shaders on high, Tex Med, Shad. Med, Water High, Physx Med, Sound Hi and everything else low.
    Looks great, plays great.

What's a good value for the memory though? 800/900? What does it helps more with shaders?

Undervolt your processor to lower your temps if you think they are too high.

I don't believe they are, I'm mainly wondering about the memory and good core settings.

So any more feedback on this? Still wondering if 700/1400 is too extreme and if I should up the memory ...

Running the new 174.30 FX 570m drivers and game play in Crysis plays and looks decent 1440x900 on medium settings.

    Crysis T61p movies

FRAPS program slows down the FPS some but it's free to make these movies. Actual FPS and game play is slightly better without FRAPS running

    The 15.4" T61p FX 570m uses the G84 GPU with revision "A2" architecture and 256mb DDR3.

You should get similiar results with the 174.30 drivers.

All mediums? Not bad, then might test it if I'm free. Did you OC in the slightest? I'm using the 174.31, hope the improvement is there ... somewhere.

is it possible at all to have shaders on high? JUST shaders?
