I like games like FC2 but after you finish the story, there isn't much more to do. The online is good but there's hardly more than 2 games going on at a time. What's a sort of new FPS with good gameplay and good online activity? Left for Dead seems popular. I don't mind paying full price if the game is new. Or I could wait for Left for Dead 2. Is the FPS style realistic kind of like FC2?

i would say cod 4... very fast paced if ur playing with 50 ppl... but if were u i'd wait till cod 6 modern warfare 2 comes out... its gonna be a blast.. i already pre ordered it

Team Fortress.

I'd say Call of Duty 2. It's much better than Call of Duty 4.
Nothing wrong with Call of Duty 4 but CoD 2 has better maps. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Counter Strike 1.6.
Counter Strike: Condition Zero.
Counter Strike: Source. -
COD4
Battlefield 2
Team Fortress 2 -
- Counter-Strike (particularly Source, don't bother with 1.6 unless you enjoy wallhacks, aimbots and 10 year old graphics).
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Team Fortress 2
- Halo: Combat Evolved (dead serious, the server browser is still loaded after all these years)
- Battlefield 2 or 2142
-
Hmm I think I'll look at the COD series
-
Good choice. 2 and 4 are the best, then try World at War and the original + United Offensive expansion.

BF2, it just got an upgrade few days ago, with added expansions, new maps and such and it actually involwes teamwork not like the COD series where u won't hear anyone talking or playing together. COD is just run and shoot, unless u play on realistic tactical servers. I have cod:waw , and cod:mw, so I'm just stating my point of view, not hatin
I also have TF2, L4D, CS and l4d and tf2 would b second after bf2.
also did I mention that bf2 is like $9.99, can't go wrong there -
I would vote for COD4 as well.

I like Left 4 Dead because of the cooperative aspect. Since you're all on the same team and you're relying on the other players to keep you alive--no matter how good you are at the game, you will get pounced/smoked/boomed--and that eliminates "oh lol i kiled you n00b QQ."
If you do want to do that kind of thing, there's always Versus mode. -
There are over 1,000 players online at any given time in Halo: Custom Edition (a downloadable edition of Halo PC that is free to owners of the regular game, it has better netcode and supports user generated content).
It's ironic, because for the longest time Custom Edition didn't get any attention and people just played the regular version, even though it had some really awesome maps, so for years they actually had less players than they do now.

Yeah, that was always a pain...seeing a new map on a server, having to quit the game, head over to halomaps.org and wait half an hour to download those 20MB RAR files.
What's a good FPS with a lot of online activity?
