Yeah gotta say I had a lot of fun with NFSU. I'm not that keen on the free roaming on all the new ones.
-
I say NFS hot persuit 2, but ONLY for the PS2, the other versions sucked, playing as a cop on the PS2 meant that you actually had to pull people over, or make it so they were stuck and couldn't move, on others like Xbox and PC you just rammed them which was boring.
Then underground 1 & 2 mainly because of the online drifting down hillsides, it was really fun..
Pro street is a turn back imo, the demo wasn't that great, graphically, and gameplay wise. -
I Like NFS-Most Wanted .It's the best I played so far.
-
i liked nfs underground as well , but nfs porsche unlimited was pretty nice back in the day also ..
-
Oh yeah Porsche Unleashed was pretty good. Just started playing Most Wanted. Is it me or have they made turning so much easier than it should be.
-
It's been downhill since Porsche Unleashed
, though I did enjoy Most Wanted somewhat for a short while. Unfortunately it started crashing on me left and right after a handful of hours on the desktop I had at the time.
Hot Pursuit 2 was decent as well if I recall correctly.
Though I guess the thing that has really killed the series for me has been the focus on the tuner culture and the utterly annoying morons it apparantly attracts - if the in-game NFS characters are anything to go by at least.
That and I generally feel the driving physics are a tad too dumbed down for me - and I otherwise tend to enjoy assorted arcade racers played with a gamepad on my XBox 360, just as much as I do hardcore PC sims like GTR2, GTL, RACE, rFactor etc., played with my Logitech G25.
I imagine I may still give Pro Street a try - though with the substantial list of fantastic 360 and PC releases in October and this month (PGR4, Virtua Fighter 5, Assassin's Creed on Friday, Mass Effect the week after, and now that I'm getting a Vista PC - I was otherwise stuck on Windows 2000 which has lost most developer support this year - I think I'll be picking up Hellgate London, The Witcher plus a few other PC titles as well), I guess I've got my hands full at the moment. And then some.

Voted for NFS2, played that the most among the NFS series back in 1998
-
NFS Porsche Unleashed, I loved the whole concept...too bad that they haven't done something similar, like BMW Unleashed or...Mitsubishi Unleashed...etc
-
old but still great ie nfs 2
-
NFS 5: Porsche is the best of the best .. it has the most realistic driving experience and that's what i enjoy! I also liked the NFS U and NFS U2 ..
.. they were also good ..
P.S. You forgot to put NFS 5: Porsche Unleashed -
-
i think the best NFS were the older ones back in the day when the company making the game (cant remember who it was back then) actually gave complete stats about the cars and the whole game was just so great. nowadays they are more arcady sort of, with the exeption of ProStreet cause thats not out yet so we cant rly judge it right now

im gonna have to go with NFS Underground (even though ive beaten it like 80 times already)
-
The release year for NFS Porsche is 2000
v3loc1ty2.0 - i've passed the game about 30-40 times until i couldn't create any more profiles)
-
I voted Need for Speed II, I remember having a lot of fun with that game.
-
i'm liking prostreets so far..it's the most realistic one yet
i tried to hood mode look, and it shows it from the left side, and before, it was shown in the Center, and i wasnt even driving a McLaren xD..and ofcourse, the damage counters
-
I have pretty much played almost each one of them. Generally speaking I prefer NFS Most Wanted.
-
Underground has to be my favorite, but carbon for the Wii is pretty fun with the motion-sense-driving.
-
i thought it was called NFS porche 2000?????? not unleshed????/ although that just might have been in australia. i don't know. that was my favourite one my far.
-
it was called PU in the US
NFSPU +1
(yea I still have the disc lol.) -
from a google search, but it is the same as my box
-
lol we should have a NFS
S Racing Team for NBR if we can ever set it up
-
High stakes (I still own the PC game) because it had user created vehicles and real-time car damage. It was awesome driving a beat up corvette just for the heck of it. Damage actually affected your cars performance too.
-
i remember playing NFS
orsche Unleashed on my old PSOne. Horrible graphics, but good times....
-
i don't get in what ways nfs:carbon is good...it never turned day....i even left the game running for two straight days and even woke up in the middle of the night and no day. most wanted rules
-
For me it was Porsche Unleashed too. Most of the others aren't too difficult and it's relatively easy to complete the game. Porsche was a real challenge, some of the tests (handbrake within cones etc) were really tough and there was a sense of achievment when you nail a high speed manouver perfectly.

good job on killing your screen
MW never had nights though -

I added Porsche Unleashed and gave it 2 votes as there have been a couple of users post that it's their fave.
-
owellz..still for prostreets
i just pre-ordered it and supposedly i can pick it up tmrand i got my Impreza code
woot..
and anyone taking my idea about a NBR Race team? -
I Forgot to add it when i post this poll -
Porsche Unleashed gets my vote. note necessarily the best out of the series, but the one i remember playing the best. Carbon was pretty entertaining on the PSP as well.
-
-
how is prostreet? i haven't played it yet, nor know when it comes out...if it didn't already
-
I enjoyed the Underground ones. Most Wanted was alright, but I never could figure out the whole "losing the cops" trick.
-
see they kind of keep getting better and better, but i still remember chasing my friends int he cop car in nfs undergroung was fun, but then nfs carbon on my 360 was my favorite game for a couple mothns so its a hard pick.
-
EB lied to me and said that it was gonna be out yesterday
but i'm picking it up later this afternoon..hopefully..i'll tell you how it goesbut from the Demo..it looked pretty nice
-
I think Need For Speed II, Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit (Doing 190 mph plus in Atlantica! and trying on Aquatica with all the bunch of extra tracks, lol..) my personal favorite was Need For Speed IV: High Stakes, I mean you could signal while driving!! how awesome is that, lol.
-
Most Wanted/Carbon for me was the best. I have played prostreet and it shocking. The graphics haven't changed much and the gameplay has poor
-
Well my vote is for MOST WANTED......tghe best NFS that i have played.....
but i also loved NFS Underground.....was really addictive....especially the music...was really good......
older versions High Stakes was fun.....used to be a time when i used to play that a lot back in '99.... -
Need For Speed Porsche 2000 was the best for me
-
High Stakes had brilliant gameplay, Porsche Unleashed was far ahead of its time and had a very realistic physics engine, and Most Wanted is the closest that they have come to matching High Stakes since then. Everything in between those has sucked.
