Minecraft, Kirby: Epic Yarn & Dead Island.
I would say RAGE but sadly there aint any good drivers for the HD 6970m that does not affect other games. -
- Bad Company 2 soon to be Battlefield 3
- getting back into Freespace 2
- Angry Birds (ok, I got hooked for a bit) -
Right now, that would have to be the original guild wars, new quests so guildmates are returning to it as well to complete them. There is also Bastion which i have yet to finish and blazblue on PS3 when i feel the need to destroy something

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Microsoft Flight Simulator X would be on the top of the list.
Followed by SWAT4 and then whatever I currently play. -
Star Trek: Birth of the Federation.
Star Trek: Armada 2 - Fleet Ops mod.
That's pretty much it for now.
I do play new games occasionally if they grab my interest... but hadn't come across one recently. -

nothing beats my hours spent on these games. -
Reasons I like TF2:
1. It's a well made game which runs nicely.
2. Valve are a fairly honest company so that already puts it ahead of other games - I don't want to support the gradual watering down of games by simply buying what I see, hence why I'm steering clear of BF3.
3. It's completely non serious and was basically designed to rip the crap out of other "serious" FPS games (e.g. a soldier flying through the air with his feet on fire). It's a nice break from the ultra serious FPS scene, while I do play games like CS:S I find the community behind it a little intensive.
4. There is a lot of community involvement which usually finds most of the glitches/imbalences in the weapons valve propose while also doing a great job on new maps and weapons (the community made maps are just as good as the valve ones, if you weren't told then you wouldn't be able to tell the difference).
5. It's a well balenced game which is fairly well laid out.
6. You can mod it to hell and back and valve don't care, if anything they actually enchourage it.
7. The customisation of your character is immense and so it caters for almost all playstyles.
8. You get a truely different experience with each class you play, it's not just that you have an SMG instead of an assault rifle and run a bit faster like most other games. To play a different class requires a whole different mindset (especially spy).
9. It comes in the orange box for £10 with other epic games so what's not to like?
10. No DLC crap which you have to pay for!
However there are few things which I dislike about TF2:
1. Hats, don't even get me started about hats. Aside from being irritating when someone only wants to trade for hats, it's sad that a game like TF2 which really was really ground breaking in terms of style will be remembered not for the excellent gameplay but for the hats.
2. The Mann Co. store is a bit annoying, I refuse to buy anything from it on principle so it's annoying when a new weapon set comes out and I have to wait to craft it all while some n00b just buys it all and then mic spams round the server and annoys everyone. It was a bit of a kick in the teeth when some of the weapons I worked hard to EARN were being sold for 70p.
I'm going to put F2P in a section of its own. I agree that in some senses it's good because valve wasn't really getting anymore purchases of the game so they may as well widen the community but in doing so they've opened the door to more 10 year old mic spamming idiots with a skill for using the worst grammar and social skills out there (yes, they're that bad that it counts as a skill). Also, while it was to be anticipated that in the first few weeks after the F2P update the servers would be full of completely incapable idiots without any common sense at all for the global objective of the game (win the round as a team), the situation hasn't got much better. I still often find myself having to give everyone instructions and having to try to push for a win by myself since everyone else is incapable of organizing themselves into an effective team.
On a quick note though, a plus side of the F2P update is that long time players can go on rampages when we feel like it. On general servers the free kills are OK for a while but they get old pretty quickly and you just end up frustrated because of lack of competition. The good side is that if you've had a bad day at school/work/whatever-you-do then you can quite reliably find server with 3-5 people on it and completely screw them to hell and back to the point they leave the server. In that sense I can be a bit of a troll. -
@funky monk
Well, you may have just convinced me to get into TF2. I own it already but haven't played a ton of it. Maybe we can get into some games together? I didn't know it was such an immersive game... (why does firefox spell check immersive?) -

Learning your way round the maps is actually quite a good idea, if you just start off with five core maps that you intend to play from the start (then when you get a feel fr the game you branch out to the others), it's quite easy to set up a local server and go running around for a few minutes to scout out the nice routes and find good lines of sight.
Setting up a local server is easy enough, in the home menu for TF2 there's a little button which looks like a medical cross. Just go from there and then select the map you want. Also, since it's local and you're the server owner then you can noclip all over the place if you want to get things done quickly and get a 3d map in your head of the tunnels and how everything fits together. -
By the way, I played with my friend about a month ago and completely owned him after only playing for 5 minutes. It was like 25-4 or something lol.
EDIT: and not every game takes 10 hours to get into... I've come across many, many games that have taken an hour or less to get into. Just saying... -
