I am unable to find any modified drivers which support it. Are there any and whats the safest way to alter the memory and core speeds? My laptop is a Sony Vaio SZXP1, GPU temp is usually 50-55c.

Best thing to use is the coolbits registery edit that unlocks the overclocking feature already built into nvidia driver software. Just google for coolbits. I can't remember what I had my go 7400 overclocked to, but it wasn't the best overclocker. Had to OC a lot for a little performance increase. The memory is the best thing to tweak, I think I was able to pump it up by close to 100mhz.

Hey... I see you have the 7600 in your current dv8000t?

How do the benchmarks in your sig for the 7600 compare with the 7400?

    HP Pavilion dv8000t
    Core Duo T2400 1.83ghz ~ GeForce Go 7600 256mb ~ 2gb Ram ~ 2x 100gb HDD ~ 17" WXGA Ultra BrightView

The 7600 is going to be about twice the power of the 7400. But you can also download X-Treme G drivers by tweaksrus. Their drivers have built in overclocking. Or you could try powerstrip.

See sig - stock is 450/700 and ~2000 even 3d05 marks. Overclock is stable using Coolbits

I used to have the Go 7400 version of the dv8000t..I got around 2150 in 3dmark05 with the safe overclock I had it at. On this machine on a safe overclock (470/415) I get about 3900 in 3dmark05. So almost 2x the score.
