Very big difference, one is an enthusiast card, one is a mainstream card.

I dont know what any of that means and I'm also pretty confused as notebookcheck.net has the 4870 ranked #9 and the 4670 is ranked # 43 but the FPS results in games are higher on the 4670? -
In notebookcheck, 4670 mobility has a 3dmark vantage score of 3000, while 4870 mobility has a mark of 6600, so it's about more than 2 times more powerful.

The 4670 will handle the HD editing fine, the 4870 would only really help out in gaming.
For a 4670 a decent 350-400W PSU would be plenty, something like the 80+ Bronze Antec EA-380D would be quite efficient and save you quite a bit in the long run. HD 4870M performs way better than HD 4670M. You can google for XPS 16 and AWM17x laptop and you will see in benchmarks that 4870M is significantly faster than a 4670M. -
its simple the HD4670 is a mid range card while HD4870 is a high end card
so the HD4870 is much stronger than the HD4670 -
4870 will trash 4670 period
also , if u can , get a laptop with Mobility 5870 .. it will trash both into the ground... and also has DirectX 11...
What's the difference?
