I use MSI Afterburner to OC my graphic card, and sometimes the temp reaches 85 degrees. Is it safe for the gpu and cpu?

Yes, 85C is safe. Different cards have different thermal limits. As a rule of thumb, it's a good idea to keep temps below the mid 80s, although some cards (like many of the Kepler models) should run cooler than that.

Many cards have 105C as the thermal threshold to power off, where they won't suffer damage until like 115C or 120C. But usually exceeding 90C is considered beyond the recommended safe zone.

Under 90c , my 680m overvolted was hitting 90c in crysis and I had to get a notebook cooler to keep it below 85c. I had my 460m sli setup die in 3 months in my old m18x after being run up to 95c during gaming for hours a day. Every card is different, depends on how it was built and of course the architecture

    I have 650m with 2gb ddr3. I think it's kepler type gpu. So I guess 85c is safe then :)

Yes ur safe, remember different games will reflect different temps, try out crysis 3 , that game makes my gpu sweat more than any benchmark could

A high overclock also increases temperature, as does overvolting.
