Yes, I know that the desktop version has been released, and for obvious reasons (the name) it's low end. But I've never heard about the mobile version before.

Hehe, it was my own fault. I had it in a backback at a bar (I was going to my GF's place, but she was with a friend at a nearby bar, so I went straight there instead). I forgot about my backpack (no I wasn't even drunk, only had one beer). During the time we were there, two guys had been hitting on the girls in very odd ways when they were out smoking. Other than them the bar was almost empty. When we left I saw through the window that the two guys moved to the table we were at. I didn't think much of it at that point, but they obviously went there because they saw my backpack. I didn't think of it until the morning after and the bar personnel hadn't found anything (it's a pretty high-class restaurant actually so I doubt that they would have taken it). Anyway: Lesson learned. Never bring your laptop out :)

The lesson is never leave it unattended in a public place, though I've always thought that one to be pretty obvious. Often times I have personal belongings in tow (sometimes even my laptop) and I always ask the bartender if they could stash it someplace safe, and they always do.

The 3600 series will be the new high end mobile ATI card. I hope they sell it as an individual item.

Also this card is marketed as being a value.

Not sure but it looks like it might fit in the Lenovo T61p.

    T61p GPU heatsink and cooler.

3600 is mid range. The 3870 Mobility will be the high end.

I rarely leave my laptop out at school, even though it is only one of two Vostro's in my school. If someone took it, too many people would see anyways.

Based on desktop-refrences, the 3650 performs around the same as an 8600M GT, whereas the 3690 out-performs the 8600 GTS by quite a margin. I can't quite remember where I saw those benchmarks though, sorry. :(

Also, the 3650 Mobility performs *slightly* better than the 8600M GT too.

Yea but rumours are swirling that ATi will have the 4000 mobility series out by Q3 2008 and they will be 256-bit to compete with the 256-bit 9600GT. Might be worth passing on the HD3XXX series.
