My laptop has 8600m gt graphic card, on the internet it says turbocache up to 1 gb, but in the spec. just up to 512 and dedicated 256... What's the meaning of this and how to increase it? Is it same as overclock and does it have any side efects.. thanks

I'm also interested in what that means!
Friend of mine got himself a laptop with those exact stats, but his card performs like crap with the newest games! :-(
Such a bunch of hype that almosy fools inexperienced gaming laptop buyers such myself... -
The 1GB is a combination of your dedicated and other so it does add up. The "Turbo" is system memory, you can not increase it the GPU and system will decide how much and how to use the extra 792MB. side effect is you need more RAM and the RAM is slower than dedicated memory!

use RAM? My laptop has 1 x 1 gb 533 and 1 x 1 gb 667... does turbo memory will conflict with these? And in internet it shows up to 1 gb... and when I checked vga properties it just dedicated 256 and shared 255...

sigh* - don't bother increasing your turbocache. its not going to increase your performance.
first off- keep in mind that your gpu can really only effectively make use of 256 megs of ram in the first place.

And TurboCache and Hypermemory are the same thing (thought i would clarify that before someone with an ATi card asked)

hypermemory is even worse. its software based, so it goes through the cpu.
still- neither is a good thing. especially when you have 256 megs of vram onboard and that is all the card can make use of, even with its super fast connection.
even the go 7950gtx (much faster) can only make use of about 256 megs of memory. 512 megs gives it a few percentage points extra in some situations, but the 8600m gt is a good ways behind that card. -
So it turbocache is like a normal vga + integrated vga that uses shared memory from RAM? At least it can boost up performance and there're a difference between 512 tc and 1 gb tc even they have same dedicated memory right?

Wait a second, isnt turbocache that intel thing where you add more memory and its supposed to do something? It shares the name with the nvidia thing but is fundamentally different?

Yeah that thing there, "turbo memory" theyve called it. I didnt know the 8600m used turbocache, thought that was only the low end 6xxx series. -
I don't believe Intel actually calls it TurboCache. They are two *completely* separate things though - one (Nvidia) is a high-speed connection from the video card to the system RAM, the other (aka Intel Robson) is a flash module that can be used to cache files from the drive.
What's turbocache in nvidia?
