    Hi!

I have this game, F.E.A.R - Director's edition. I wanted to know which patched does it have already? There are 8 patches for this game (1.08 being the latest), and the cumulative update (1.08) is 600+MB in size, and it'll be difficult for me to download it, it'd take me a week. So, can anyone tell me which patches does this box have pre-installed in the setup?

Otherwise, I'd start downloading the patch now.

    Thanks.

UK version is released later than the US version.

If the UK version was released later, maybe there were more patches in the retail version. So it would need less patches.

How do I find out which version I have? The EULA and ReadMe have England mentioned all over (like in Contact details and "abides by England law"), so it must be the U.K version, right?

Will it be on the box or in the comics or something?

Regardless, I got the UK version patch somehow, and it has updated, and the game says v1.08. I guess it was a UK version after all.

Damn, it's hard playing any game after finishing Far Cry. :(

Will this turn into a good game as I progress, or am I wasting my time here?

I think there is a cumalative path to 1.08, I'd just get that one. That is what I did, I think I have the Director's Edition as well...

Well, I got the cumulative patch (1.08), but this game sucks big time, I got headaches with the stupid lights and all. And the so called fear, with the girl crawling and that guy roaming here and there, and the music, what, are you kidding me? And then fighting the same enemies again and again and again and again.

    I uninstalled it.

    Back to UT 2004.

I liked FEAR , played it at night time in the dark, and all environments set to max :D
But yea, FEAR is not much of a graphics showoff. It`s more about the story and feeling. If you can honestly say the music and sudden enmies(invisible or dead) jumping on you don`t freak you out, that I must tell you that FEAR is a horror fps...

The zombies of Far Cry (the ones with blade-like hands) gave me more chills than these NASA-approved zombies.

Looks like I'm not going to like S.T.A.L.K.E.R as well.

I don't know about jumping enemy, the "cheap" scare employed by "Doom 3" is really present in FEAR. I thought it was more the atmosphere that scare the **** out of you....especially with the little girl... -_-ll

Yes, according to the "The making of F.E.A.R", they wanted to get under our skin!

What really? You got scared by a cartoon girl? I just wanted to beat the crap out of her for giving me headaches.

Well, I guess this is where the cultural background sets in....
All of the asian horror movies are like FEAR, atmospheric, girl with long hair twitch and moves in unusual way, which I have been watch like what since I was 8.... Not to be stereotypical but alot of horror here in US are not really well, "Horror", more like gore, bloodbath, and well...cheap scares that has something jump out at you right when the character turns, or a high volume sound effect that surprise you.... :S

I know, I'm an Asian as well. :) Although, not a Japanese, but I've grown up watching the same movies.

The only thing good about this game was the live-action. In the the Director's Edition, there is a video, where a female doctor comes to check-up on the girl, Alma, and Alma ****s her up real bad. It was freaky as ****.

Maybe it is the "Far Cry syndrome". I could not watch anything for some time after finishing "The Sopranos" within a month. I never liked anything. Then, when I could, I started "The Shield". Finished it in a month or so again, and then could not watch anything for a longer time. :( Thank God for Six Feet Under though.

Maybe my expectations were too high.
