Got a 780m laptop dirt cheap ordered, getting it tommorow, one of those unknown brands but the parts all come from nvidia-intel anyway.

What clock values can I put on with practically no risk of it getting too hot or shutting down when testing? like 135\300?

What "unknown" brand did you order?
Every GPU is different start much lower, stress test, if it passes rinse and repeat until you find your desired level.

My suggestion is to just flash the unlocked vBIOS by svl7 and Johnksss. The benefit includes both a slight core overclock to 850MHz and the assurance that your clocks will hold steady as long as temperatures are within reason.

Its a proworx\saturn brand. wont find any reviews or anything online. Even if the build quality was below average, it would take some insane flaws for it to be worth less than the 860m I initially planned, even if it was completely unoverclockable its still leaps and bounds better.

Usually you want to run furmark / heaven benchmark / 3DMvantage - 11 and slowly overclock your GPU using MSI afterburner

Anything below 89c is usually good. So aim for the highest core clock and memory clock you can.

The laptop you're getting looks like a barebone GT60/70, you can press a turbo fan button to increase the speed of the fan while gaming to reduce temperatures.

Every card is different, and every application will give you different temps. I would not recommend running Furmark since it could cause serious harm. Best way really is to run a game of your choice and see how temps/clocks hold up. If you must run a synthetic Unigine Heaven or Valley are both far better options than Furmark.

yep, just got it and it is indeed a barebones gt70 od. damn amazing, only 1200 euro very happy. max temperature is 67c with full fans on 3dmark, ill slowly test this baby out then, nothing major tho.

That's why I asked what "unknown" brand did you buy?

strange, one would imagine the MSI logo would make it 10x more sellable. My dad was very skeptical and I kind of was as well, but if it was an MSI Gt70 Id have happily bought it the moment I saw it.

8400 3dmark with +135/0. wonder how much higher i can put it with a stable 200-400 ram, mm lets see soon.

edit 8569 with 135/300 on msi afterburner, mm stronger than stock gtx760. guess thats about as good as it goes, im not gonna change bios or overvolt or anything. really happy, was using a hd3870 from 2008 before this.

Max you can get around without starting to overvolt and tweak your GPU is around 1020core and +500mhz memory, but it depends on each GPU.

I game all the time with +135/+300 at around 72-78C temps with custom fan table (using Pherein's older tool). My max GPU score for 3dmark was 9100 I think :)
