    Could you please clarify? The HD 5650 is faster than the 550v.

    You can't buy just a 550v or just a 5650 in a laptop like you can in a desktop, so you can't directly compare prices between the two. You need to compare prices of the entire laptop systems that contain those specific cards, taking into account the specs and brand in addition to just the GPU. That said, laptops with a 5650 aren't expensive, and shouldn't cost much more than one with a 550v, so get one with a 5650 in it.
