    Hey

My fps on BF2 is really low, 15 on the demo single player thingy, and so i just thought that it was my comp, but then i saw people with 200m playing at like 40 fps???

    I have
    ACER ASPIRE 5102
    AMD Turion 64 X2
ATI Radeon 128 MB Shared X1100
    1 GB RAM

Is there something I'm doing wrong, i'm pretty sure i have all the drivers, but BF2 is still crap shooting, or maybe its that the Game AI makes my comp drag down??? what is it???

    Thank YOu

I don't know where you say people playing at 40FPS with a Radeon Xpress 200M, but that's not a reality. The X200M is an integrated chip; the shared memory X200M can't really play BF2, even at the bare minimum settings. One of our members, jess_paws, reports that her laptop gets about 15FPS on minimum settings & resolution.

The Radeon X1100 is about 1/3 faster than the X200M, but that is in synthetic benchmarks only. In real life, the difference is probably less. Its memory is still shared, and that is the main problem. I can't imagine you would get more than 15 - 20FPS at best in BF2, it's a game that is simply not playable on an integrated card.

My x200m gets 10-15fps on bf2. ATi's integrated cards vary greatly on how well they perform even within the same model. I think there might be something to do with having some dedicated ram?

    Still, what are your settings?

Chaz - I've used BF2 on my old X200m and it easily ran fairly smoothly at the minimum settings, maybe not 40fps but easily above 25 at least.

The X1100 should be even better and should at least give you your desired 40fps on low settings - tried different driver sets.
