Yeah, it does depending on the game, drivers etc. I can ususally get it to 1100mhz but it might crash.

It doesn't matter tho because when you have decent memory bandwidth, you get far more performance by core clocks. at 900mhz I get a sizable performance boost.

for example I could game at 900/1050 or 800/1100. The first one is much better in performance.

Thanks il try that out, maybe lower my memory to 1050 and take core up to like 825

Edit: Could not get higher than 800 on core so i rather keep it 785/1100 than 800/1050 :)

Driver stops responding any higher i guess i have to little power supply and have to overvolt if i want any more

Yeah you might need to. I overvolted to the standard 1.15 (mine came with 1.05v) and now use a 150w PSU because the 120w stock one would die off. I generally see close to no performance increase from say, 800/1050 to 800/1100 unless im heavily using AA, high res etc and even then its usually not enough haha. if you can keep it at 1100 thats cool, I wish I could too but Im happy with my 900 core speed :)

32k is nothing... did you even see the graphics score? 46k!!! I can barely get 2500 by heavy overclocking! this thing is 1800% higher! xD

Would i be able to OC more if i get a 150W power supply but dont Overvolt?
    Now i use standars 120W

Not sure how this stuff works...

32K is well over 7k over the world record, they should submit this asap (maybe they are not submitting because 7970 is not released yet?) I saw the graphics score too, but overall 32k from 11 is crazy (46k is expected with quad 7970, crazy, humiliation)

I don't think so. You are reaching the limits of stability with those clocks on your standard voltage. When I overvolted, if I overclock, it would kill off my 120W PSU and I had to reconnect it to revive. So I'm not sure a lack of power is your issue.

You could try it tho. But I think you would need to overvolt to sustain the high clocks easier.

Yeah, they actually broke 5 world records with that setup, extreme vantage, performance vantage (like 84k score xD) both 3dmark11 scores, and also uniengine heaven bench with like 8k score I think.

Who knows why they haven't submitted it. Those are epic scores.

Yup I am @ 850/1200 on each one of my 5870's and I had to OV to 1.10V to maintain stability.

I also used to score around 4600ish with my 720QM downloading now to see what it is with my 920XM.

I managed to overvolt to 1.15 with ati tray tool :) now i just gotta get a 150W adapter

    P2562 3DMarks11 with 800/1100 clock and P9730 3DMarks Vantage

However when i use ATI Tray tool my voltage is always 1.15 and clocks always 800/1100 even when not gaming

    But i want to cheat. D;

Nevermind, il do two runs on 3DMark 11, with and without the Tessellation cheat but we all know my HD 6970m doesent like Tesselation.

    Results:

This is gonna sound crazy but i actually got higher scores by disabling the AMD tesselation "cheat". xD

Here the results with all settings at default - Tesselation fix & the results for everything set to default here.
I OCed my HD 6970m to 710MHz core & 1000MHz memory from CCC and i used Catalyst 12.1 preview.

Well why don't you turn Tessellation OFF if you want to compare scores? Make others do the work for you? And are you sure nVidia and AMD have same settings as CCC (and it's not CCC it's Vision Engine) in default? Yes, I'm being a jerk.

None of the links to Futuremark benches are working for me. Are they for everyone else?

in AMD cards, you can shutoff the tessellation in the Catalyst Control Center...it will bring up the 3dmark11 scores on a 6990m by about 400points

uncheck the amd optimized option and slide the slider all the way to the left. You will see a huge increase in 3dmark11 scores...but 3dmark11 will also complain after and tell you that your tesselation was off and the score is not official

with the default settings (tesselation set to amd optimized) i get about 4050-4100
with tessellation off, i get about 4500-4600

I had soooooo many plans to OC the 920xm to 3.some crazy number as soon as I got it lol, but man I gotta say the performance has left me even more soooooo lazy to carry out any plans of OC the 920. I am surprisingly content with the performance now, where with the 720 I was craving so much more.

It's still CCC for non APU users. :p

I don't game on my laptops, best one is a 5 yr old Dell E1705 with a 7900 video card.

    My gaming desktop: i7 2600K, 16gb ddr3 1600 CAS 7, Evga Superclocked 570 HD video card. Score P6307 Can play a lot of games at 2560 x 1600 on my Dell 30" U3011 monitor.

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2600K Processor,ASRock P67 Pro3 score: P6307 3DMarks

    http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2521992

My desktop uses 413 to 445 W during the test - everything -> the desktop + 2 monitors.

I wouldn't game seriously on a laptop. Laptops have low res and small screens and the hard drive space isn't enough to hold my 1 tb of 172 Steam games.

!080 P on a 17 inch screen is not really low res :) and why u ned 172 steam games installed at once?

i do however agree its better to game on a desktop because of bigger screen, better keyboard, better performance which is why i use a 32 inch screen and an external razer keyboard when i play serious :D

My Dell E1705 laptops are 1920 x 1200 17" screens laptops. Both are out of warranty so I don't use them often. I might get a new laptop in 2013.

I would only load a few non graphic intensive games on my laptop. Crysis 1 would only play on low settings, so it's not worth it. But Neverwinter Nights 2 and Company of Heroes would work.

The score for my desktop (all at stock speeds/settings) is P5980. Can't run 3DMark 11 on my laptop as my GPU doesn't support DirectX 11.
