Uhmm...if you are into the Ultra High End graphics then the new clevo thread above this one might interest you. They are releasing the GTX 280 for laptops along with Core i7 cpus. This time around the new GTX 280 might actually be the one in desktops. Who knows?

Actually clevo has the best thermal technology in the whole industry. in the Sager NP9262, under full load for 5hrs, the 9800m gtx sli setup only reaches 78C.

So they won't dissapoint this time around for sure.

but thats only clevo doing it right? i was looking for a laptop around 1400ish not 3k.

so i was thinking if a new graphic card model comes out, graphic card like the 9800m gtx and stuff will have a chance to drop to the 1400 range.

How about the MSI GT725, "low-end" model is $1350. It's a 17", same idea as the Gateways but is better all around. In fact, I'm looking to pick one up when these are released.

I think ATI wins it out with the HD 4870 X2 coming out with the Asus W90.
    also

ATI Mobility HD 4850 and 4870 and Nvidia GTX260-280.

I doubt it. Once ATI's out, Nvidia will show its hand (they have the ability to wait due to the current superiority, at least in the laptop segment). ATI has started forcing Nvidia to become competitive a bit after last years release of the desktop 4870, but it's not like ATI's just came and completely took over the GPU segment, gaming or non-gaming.

The best thing out of it is just ATI likely forcing Nvidia overall to be better, at least for consumers. Competition's always good for us.
