    When are notebook DX10 cards gonna be launched?

    When are the notebook DirectX 10 graphic cards gonna be launched
    Im still waiting to buy a laptop and wanna see if its actually worth

    will it be out by febuary
    coz thats the max i can wait till

    I've read nVidia estimates around July 2007 for their first DX10 notebook cards (Which will most likely be only in large desktop replacements at first, like the first SM3 and SM2 cards). ATi doesn't even have desktop DX10 cards yet, so there's no telling when their notebook DX10 GPUs will be ready. The problem is that the only current DX10 boards produce a lot of heat and require insane amounts of power ( 2 additional PCI-E power connectors - more than even the 7950GX2 - for the 8800GTX), making them, obviously, impractical for use in notebooks until a lot of reworking can be done.

    Bottom line is, if you need a notebook now, buy now. Waiting for DX10 is going to be a long, long wait.
