When can I expect a 512 MB Nvidia GeForce 8950 GTX in a laptop OR desktop anytime soon? Also- would it be upgradeable in a laptop soon to be in an Asus C80S or C70S when they come out?

What kind of answer is that? To answer his question, It will take a long time. The 8800m has yet to come out (maybe by next month) and wont be seeing an upgrade to that untill probably early next year.

SHouldn't trust inquirer. 8950, if there's any will only be on the desktop. The most possible is a 8750M. I don't think there ll be a 8800M anyway.

the 9xxx series comes on desktop at the end of the year, nVidia said Q4 '07. From synthetic benchmarks the 7950 still is the best mobile card (higher scores than the 8700 from a french toshiba X200 review)

I got my M1710 about 2 month ago and I got mad when I did not do my homework on upcoming 8xxx Mobile cards but now ... 7950 still rocks ... I can live with myself .... I mean really 7950 GTX vs 8700 GT ..... 7950 IS better .... WAITING for 8800 ....then I'll get mad again :).

BTW. Can I upgrade my MXM Vchip with 8M card in M1710 Laptop ?
