I'll admit I am more of an nVidia guy but a little competition never hurts. I am wondering when (or if for that matter) we will get a response from ATI about its next generation of mobile cards. They've been quiet on the mobile front for awhile.

it seems since AMD bought ATI, they just can't/don't/won't keep pace with Nvidia. I use to really like ATi and the raw power they brought to the gaming front but over the year or two, they have really slowed there race to get things out in the market place.

According to this article, a mobile RV670 (Radeon HD 38x0) is coming "soon".

You most likely expect ATI to try for the christmas season with something like an MR HD3x00, though my bet is on Q1. I wouldn't count on seeing an 8800M-GTX competitor though.

I posted information on ATI and nVidia's upcoming refreshes here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=189613

Basically, the refreshes seem to be shrinks of current parts, so no new features, and are timed to be available for Intel's upcoming Montevina platform in Q2.
