I used the famous 169.04 driver. I lost the exact number for the 3d mark so i'll do an average
    Stock: 475/400, 3511 points, max temp(UT3): 65
    OC: 711/475, 4442 point, max temp(UT3): 71

I know the mem cannot be raised anymore, since I got strange color pixel on the screen with higher setting. For the core, it's at the max that rivatuner let me overclock and I didn't see anything looking like a too much overclocked card. So what should I see if the core was too high and is there a way to OC past the rivatuner limit?

You are still using 169 series drivers? The 179.13 drivers are the latest ones and probably obliterate those ancient 169 drivers. You should know that 175.19 introduced tweaks to the shaders so that some games like Bioshock and Crysis got double-digit percent framerate increases.

I know they are better, but I can't overclock with newer driver.

I tried ATITool. I could overclock with it, but I saw artifacts with what I thought safe from running 3d mark. So I guess it means I already reached my limit.

Still, theres one of my question that wasn't answered: is there a way to overclock past rivatuner limit (715MHz core for example)? Is it also safe to OC shader past 2xcore ?

try nvidia ntune! , I have clocked my 9200m core to 750 and memory to 850 GDDR3 of course.

Mat, I was able to crank my shaders up to 3x the stock core speed. Give it a try with the unlinked shader clocks.

I knew you did, and I was trying it when you posted. Here's the result:

    675/1350/465: 4338
    675/1425/465: 4378

There no real gain. I would need to go past the 1425 limit. Is there a way to?

Edit: I used the default 1280x768. I'll use yours to compare.
Edit2: Here the result for the 1366x768 resolution with max shader clock: 4259. TehSuigi, if you want to overclock something else than shader, use the 169.04 driver.

OK, the steps used did NOT work on my installation of 175.61.
So if you do want to overclock, it'll be on 169.04.

New drivers are being released on an almost-daily basis. Are you looking for released by Acer with WHQL certificates (so it won't break your Blu-ray playback)? If so, 176.37 is the latest release.
Otherwise, the newest driver that's causing a hubbub is 180.43, a.k.a. Big Bang II.
