    When will 7970m price drop?

    What will be the chance that HD 7970m price will drop within the month? I've saw that AMD decided to lower the price for the HD 7870, which is same as 7970m except higher core clock (size of die and some stuff might be different, but spec. seems to be same - don't know for certain). I personally do not think AMD will choose to lower the price for 7970m, since it's doing great job against 680m (except enduro problem) but want to hear other people's opinion.

    You are correct in that the HD 7870 and the 7970m are the exact same chip.

    The 7970m is actually a pretty good deal for the price that it goes for (about a $200-250 upgrade). Considering its competitor is priced much higher, I doubt AMD will reduce the price of this GPU anytime soon, or ever at all.

    Mobile gpu don't generally reduce in price. Their replacements usually get released and then you can't buy them anymore lol. The 6990m was the same price until the 7970m came out, then all the sellers and resellers dropped the 6990m from the configs. At most you might find specials for $25-50 off a configuration with a particular gpu, but I wouldn't count on it.
