Anyone have any ideas when someone could configure a notebook for under 1400 with one of these babies? will it be able to fit in a 15.4in notebook?

There are conflicting opinions over whether the 8700m will fit in a 15.4" primarily due to power constraints. Maybe some daring company will modify an Intel Chipset for use in 15.4" that can handle a 35w+ load (the assumed wattage of an 8700m).

It'll be awhile before these cards are in computers selling for below 1400 dollars. Things will probably follow a similar path to what the previous mobile generation experienced. Once the 8800m level cards come out (and their supposed successors 8900m and 8950m) 8700m cards should be available at a much cheaper price. Still, there are not that many 17" computers I can think of that are cheap.

So, I'd guess sometime late fall or by the end of the year. Or you could skimp on processor and other features and get it for under 1400 probably, but that might defeat the purpose.
