I've read the Anandtech review already and they were using the desktop 8600 and 7600s.. hardly a fair comparison when we're talking about their mobile counterparts. It's fair to say that the real world results may be drastically different, so we'll wait and see.

Apple has empirically been very slow on the uptake on integrating new technologies such as processors and video cards into laptops, which makes Apple so unpopular to enthusiast users. Maybe Jobs won't drop the ball this time.

im getting a macbook pro almost as soon as they do the refresh- hopefully within 2 weeks from today - unless they release an entirely redesigned product, in which case i will have to wait until the bugs get worked out.

I just bought it. :) It was expensive but I think it will be worth it. I'm currently waiting for it to be built.

Well forget Santa Rosa, but hopefully I'll move onto DX10 when I upgrade 2009/10 :)

Charlie, so are you only gaming on a desktop or something now? A tablet? Bah! He has succumbed :p

Hopefully this summer. Just depends on when Dell or Alienware adds DX10 cards to their notebooks.

I changed my mind I dont plan on purchasing a DX10 notebook anymore. I've lost interest in PC gaming so I'm going to purchase a Macbook instead for school and music.

Once there are good drivers available for the Intel X3100 that allow it to use its hardware T&L, it may be able to play some games. Until then I'm going to . . . take a break for a bit.

Anyway i will be getting a DirectX10 and Santa Rosa refresh after 4 years with my current notebook.

May- July seems ideal. Many companies said they'd be releasing laptops within June-August.

Well I made my projection a few months ago, and I seem to be on track. Hopefully I'll have my MBP/XPS 1330 in by the end of July.
