Just wondering what websites people use to get the most current/recent information, as it all has to come from somewhere before being posted on NBR.
-
Gamespot for games, Anandtech for hardware. So many sources at the fingertips with a little searching.
-
I figured there were some better "hidden gem" websites out there other than the mainstream ones.
-
Anything if it can be verified to be factual and legitimate. I don't take their word for it from any source. Always double check that information, make sure it can be corroborated by another source.
-
i use reddit.
-
Rock Paper Shotgun, PC Gamer, and Gamespy. RPS and PCG are decent for up to the minute stuff. Gamespy is good for getting all the news into one (their) site since they seem to re-report stuff from other outlets.
-
What if I say NBR ?
-
I get Maximum PC magazine for hardware, this is my gaming news site. I always find out about cool indie games and interesting articles on this site.
-
-
Joystiq, Reddit is a pretty great one too, especially their indie-gaming section.
-
I've found I like HardOCP myself. They've got some good reviews and have a pretty broad news feed. I'll also agree with Anandtech.
-
I use Google. It can even order Pizza for you.

Giantbomb.com
They make very funny gaming quicklooks that are often anything but quick. It's largely opinion and entertainment, but they recently hired a guy to write more classical news stories as well. Their weekly podcast (called Bombcast) is also worth a listen.
I'm sick and tired of inflated, largely paid-for gaming reviews (think IGN and Gamespot) and insanely fake and unfunny video personalities (think G4TV or whatever it's called), so it's pretty much the only site I frequent besides Rock Paper Shotgun.
I mainly base my buying decisions on positive word of mouth on forums.
Where do you get your Gaming/Hardware News?
