As far as where quality wise will my notebook (I just purchased and am awaiting shipment) be able to play comfortably?

    First the specs:

    I9300
    1 Gig Ram
    2.13 Pen M
    100 GB 5400 RPM HD
    X300 128MB ATI Vid card
WXGA (not UXGA and not with True-Life)

I play with my Desktop (custom built):

    1.8 Ghz P4 Northwood
    1 Gig Kingston Ram
Sapphire 9600 128 MB Pro Atlantis Vid Card
    120 GB Segate 7200 RPM

My desktop I run at very high resolution(I think 1600 X 1200) with Medium quality and it is pretty smooth except for very beginning of level. Now obviously the X300 is a newer card than my 9600 Pro so will it run pretty smooth High or even better?

    Thanks Alot

    Jrunk

The dell laptop you bought is good, but has a poor graphics card.

Ur quite unlucky coz the model u bought used to have high end geforce 6800 graphics but now they use X300 which is not good for games

U'll be able to play BF2 on low settings and low resolution. Maybe some detail settings set to medium

Actually, the X300 is the same age as your desktop's card. It uses the same core as the 9600 series, and so does the X600.

You'll definitely be able to play BF2, but I wouldn't expect too much out of your system. Medium settings or lower sounds reasonable, XGA resolution. I don't think that you are going to get a very playable performance at anything higher.

Be sure to keep the shadows down, they really take up a good portion of a GPU's workload.
