    Hi

My laptop has a 485M graphics card but it seems to have died... Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement 485M? or another graphics card of similar quality which will work in its place?

    Thanks for any advice

Thanks for the links I haven't heard of that method before.. I'll try it before buying a new one! I am from the UK so it would be good to find a supplier over here...

It was built by a small computer company in the UK which went bust a few months ago and doesn't exist now (so I can't take it back there..) but the case is the same as a Sager NP8150 or Clevo P150HM if that helps

If you got the dough you could simply skip on the 485m and try getting a HD 7970m instead. Us Clevo P1x0HM owners dont get the Enduro issues thanks to no switchable graphics.
Im rocking a 680m (stock) in my P170HM and its solid but a steep price bump from the 7970m.

There are quite a few 680ms with ~600 bucks, I would say buy 680m, it is OC beast so much more fun to tussle :)

The above link does not ship to the UK and the cost of a replacement GTX 485M is not too far of from a GTX 680M. In fact, it costs more to get one of those on RJTech.

Maybe you could take a look around the sales area on this forum but im guessing most will be in the US.

The 670M might not be compatible with the P170HM. I know the GTX 675M didn't work when tested and that RJTech link has only been tested with the EM series.

I'd do the baking method first and if that fails, go for the 7970M, as it will probably be about the same price as 670M.

im sure you could buy one from someone who has upgraded to a 7970m or 680m.
