not sure which gpu you're talking about. the one I know is 9400m, 9500m and g210m.
still, those lose to 9600m gt.

    edit:
    I see, its n10m.

    edit2:
    based on here http://www.laptopspec.net/tag/n10m/
    n10m is g110m ? which in 3d mark 06 reach almost 3k.

while 9600m gt almost reach 6k.

Does 3k and 6k = graphics score alone?

    As in...it excludes processor....etc etc.

So would the n10m gfx outperform the 8400M GT DDR3? (which is my current)

The 9600M GT will crush any 64-bit card (ie. everything else listed above in the page, you can also check the sticky to see the full list).

agreed 9600M GT owns a 9500M G or whatever its called in the Studio XPS 13.. but wait.. warning. LG P310 RUNS QUITE HOT due to the powerful graphics card in the chasis.. try getting a 15 incher if you wanna game without burning your fingers :)

There are some solid 14" choices too in the mid rage. I own a Sony with the 230m and ASUS has one with the 4670. As mentioned there isn't much in the 13" category gaming wise.

With the performance difference when comparing a 15'' to a 13 - 14'', you have to ask yourself whether the size difference is really worth it.

Actually its the other way around. If he's looking for a 13" inch laptop, odds are he needs portability, which then begs the question, is the performance difference worth the extra size/weight/lack of battery life?
