Hello, I was wondering which version of the 8600M uses the better memory, I couldnt seem to find that information anywhere. Thanx!

Asus G1s, Asus G2s, MBP
-
Not which laptops! I mean which version of the graphics card. I assume the best 512mb version is what uses it.
-
Well, Video Ram is not often 'everything' sometimes video cards can't even utilizie it, its there for the sell factor and 'OMG OVER 512mb VIDEO RAM!!!'.
Anyways, the 8600GT has both DDR2 and GDDR3, the 8600GS is DDR2 if I recall correctly, and I don't believe we've seen a 8600G yet. -
Asus G1s/G2s: 256 Mb
Macbook Pro: 128/256 Mb -
Hey SSJ3Goku, I haven't seen you for a long time...
There are 128 and 256MB version of the 8600M GT with GDDR3, that's for now. -
Hi Dreamer, yeah I havent posted on here in forever. But today I started missing you guys so I will start posting more. Anyway so the GT uses GDDR3 thank you.
-
No, no, no. The 8600m GT in the Asus G1s/G2s and MBP uses GDDR3. Every other one uses DDR2.
-
There are DDR2 versions of the 8600M GT as well...
Nice to see you again anyway.
-
Officical 8600M GS specs is 600 on the core with GDDR3 1400 but ATM, they are all 400 on the core (?) with DDR2 800
-
OP there is no "version" that uses GDDR3, and even if there was it wouldnt matter because its not like you can upgrade the GDDR2 version to it, your stuck with what you get (for the most part anyways).
The mentioned laptops are the only ones that come with 8600m GDDR3 memory. The rest are GDDR2. Even the 8600m GT will use GDDR2 unless its from macbook or asus G1/G2. -
It's DDR2, not GDDR2
Which 8600M version uses GDDR3?
