    Which GFX card is better?

    nVidia Geforce 8600GT w/512MB RAM (dedicated) found in a sager 2090

    or

    GDD3 8600M GT w/ 256MB RAM (dedicated) found in macbook pro's and some toshibas...

    Just wondering if there is a big difference between 512MB and 256MB as well as DDR2 and DDR3.

    The 128-bit bus on the 8600 cannot utilize 512MBs of RAM, so that's almost negligible. As for DDR2 and DDR3. Let's say that DDR3 is almost twice as fast as DDR2.
