I am limited to playing games on my Graphics Media Accelerator 950, so Im going to buy a game that will run on it. I prefer to play in online multiplayer - Star Wars Battlefront 1 or Quake 3 are both games I would like and are online capable. The problem is though...these games are fairly old and have been superceded (e.g. Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Quake 4) so no one will probably still play these games in online multiplayer anymore?![]()
Also; what does a LAN do..? Does that span over a radius of about a city or something? What other online options do I have with a dial up?
And Im pretty sure my laptop (refer to sig) has Lan/WLAN.
Thank you very much if my questions are answered.![]()

Lol, LAN is a way to create a small network, by hooking up multiple computers with ethernet cables. If you can find a bunch of friends who have a computer, get them in the same room, and get them all to play the same game, you have a LAN party. However, the GMA won't be capable of playing most games, esp. the newer or more graphically intense ones.

Just found out via system requirements my laptop cant play Star Wars Battlefront 1, im so...annoyed!!!!
-
haha.. u made me laugh... well thats the problem of the GMA 950
-
i run aoe3 on high on my 945 so dont under estimate your card
-
-.-
Well duh, the GMA is good for nothing...but I heard from heaps of sources that SWB1 would run on GMA 950 fine, as its a fairly old game. -
Star Wars Battlfront 1 - System Requirements Lab - the only "fail"
Minimum: 64 MB 3D video card with Hardware Transform & Lighting
You Have: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family ()
Thats the thing it said when I tested SWB1 on that website. :S -
nah... sometimes that **** gets incorrect.... i think u can play it at low settings
-
Back to the point...nobody plays Quake 3 in online multiplayer anymore do they?
-
I believe the question was answered in another thread, but people still play Quake 3 for some reason. It also has a good number of mods and other games that run on the same engine since ID made it Open Source awhile back.
It should run just fine on the GMA 945/950. I don't know about SWB1 as I've only ever played the second one, and the second one wouldn't run for sure. -
Ok thanks then
Which Game Should I Get?
