Today we see TV's competing for the best picture quality, Projectors competing for best PQ etc. but when comparing different Gaming Laptops, their display PQ's is rather put into a Matte for Sunny situations, Glare for better PQ in dark environments.

What I want to know is which Laptop currently has the best display to take advantage of whatever specs it may have under it's hood.

I want to know in your opinion which Laptop display to choose for the best PQ in the mobile computer market today.

I would wait a few days to see if the TN screen in the new Alienware 17 or the PLS screen in the new Alienware 18 is any good.

Otherwise, it's a tossup between the 72% and 90/95% gamut TN screens found in Clevos and MSIs.

Maybe consider the 120Hz displays you can get in the M17x R4, the refresh rate I've been told can be pretty noticeable.

The panel on the Sammy gamer 7 is very good. I can't call it the best but it's far better than all displays I've had before it.

I've had some really nice screens from Matte to Glossy in Sony, Dell and Asus laptops. The Dell's XPS L521X line glossy laptop screens are amazing.... BUT...When it comes down to it, I would say the Clevo's 95% Gamut Matte screen is by far the most superior screen I've seen!

We are yet to see how the PLS (Samsung's way to say eIPS) of Alienware's 18, as well as the 3K display (2880x1620, possibly S-IPS) of MSI's GT60 are performing, but I guess they'll be the one to look at. Everything else is more or less TN, with few exclusions, but they don't feature top-of-the-line GPUs.

Properly calibrated, nothing can touch the 95% color gamut matte screen from Sager/Clevo.

The 90% gamut AUO B173HW01 V.3 available for 17.3" notebooks certainly ranks among the elite.

Probably going to spend the extra cash on a 90% gamut AUO on the next laptop I buy. I currently have a 15.4 inch matte display on my Lenovo, and comparing it to my old Laptop's 17 inch AUO (not 90% gamut), I sometimes cringe at how gray and lacking contrast things look.
