Title says it all. Post here with the make of your computer, version of card, aswell as version of driver!![]()

Make: Acer 5920
Model: 8600M GT
Driver: 158.45 - Vista 32 Bit -
Oh no, I forgot to add this in:
Post about any known problems you have with your current drivers aswell! -
163.11
I haven't had any problems, personally. -
A couple of friends of mine use the 163.11 drivers. No problems with them yet.
-
where can i get the drivers for 8400m gt that you're using?
-
You could try www.laptopvideo2go.com
-
Did you get good results from 163.11?
It doesnt seem like anyone is happy about it. -
Best drivers I've used (163.11).
-
Okay, so I tested the stock Dell drivers on my m1330 and the 163.11 drivers off of www.laptopvideo2go.com with F.E.A.R.
CPU was set to Maximum and Graphics was set to Medium, but I changed the resolution to 1280x800.
Needless to say I was impressed by my little XPS m1330
Stock Drivers
Min FPS: 10
Avg FPS: 22
Max FPS: 37
52% Below 25 FPS
48% Between 25 & 40 FPS
0% Above 40 FPS
Version 163.11 Drivers
Min FPS: 16
Avg FPS: 33
Max FPS: 63
16% Below 25 FPS
62% Between 25 & 40 FPS
22% Above 40 FPS
So for the Dell 8400m GS users (and most likely other cards and brands) , it appears as though these drivers will give you a huge improvement in performance. -
Thansk worth a rep to me! -
Can someone adjust the image sharpening on the Nvidia Control Panel?
I just updated to the latest drivers and at least i get to adjust the Digital Vibrance -
How do you TELL what your driver version is? I go to the driver tab for my graphics card and it has numbers that are nothing at all like 163.11 or 158.11. I've tried installing laptopvideo2go drivers, as well as ones I got from nVidia, and each time the installation has told me it has not even detected suitable hardware for those drivers. I have an 8600M GT in the Asus G1S.
-
I have an 8600m GT and recently installed the 168.12 drivers which resulted in a 5-7% improvement in frame rates. It was nothing spectacular, but a nice improvement. I've not yet considered moving up to newer drivers. -
So whats the unit like with like 3dmark05/06? Or did someone already post that? I mean from a real model, not a post model. If you know what I mean.

Make of Computer in sig, 8600M Gt w/ 256, vista 32 bit, 163.15 drivers
Problems i've noticed so far with 163.15 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com include:
Rainbow six vegas - Occasionally I get a bad freeze up for about 15-20 seconds and then it recovers, it happens randomly, once I exit game it has a message regarding error with XXXX drivers and recovered, I believe it’s a vista issue
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow - Game seems to run in slow motion, no matter the setting I put it on, low - high
NHL 2007 - occasional slow motion, during game play game seems to slow down then speed up again, once again in any mode low - high -
-
I got the same error with the latest nvidia downloaded driver as well, which reinforced my belief the .inf file wasn't the problem with the laptopvideo2go driver. Does that mean that when I go to the Support - Download drivers for Nvidia GeForce Go + Quadro Graphics and download the right one, it STILL doesn't support laptop graphics? Without laptopvideo2go, in that case, where is one supposed to get official drivers for laptop graphics cards?! Do they simply not bother updating them? -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
the laptop manufacturer is supposed to provide your gpu driver. as you pointed out, the manufacturer is rarely interested in updated gpu drivers.

windows vista x64:
163.xx no nvidia control panel.
162.22 works fine -
Model: zepto 6224W
GPU: 8600M GT (512mb ddr2)
Driver: 165.01
Works fine here. Gave me a little boost from the driver i used before (101.17)
Think im gonna try the 163.11 soon and see how that goes. -
OMG - I think I found out how to tell what driver I have. In nvidia Control Panel or DxDiag, my number is 7.15.0011.0119 - the thing to look at seems to be the LAST 5 numbers. By matching the date of install to the date of the drivers on laptopvideo2go, it matches 101.19. Why is the decimal point moved? Why did I not find anything when google searching about this? Why was it so difficult argh my brain hurts!
Anyway, installing newer drivers now. 3dmark06 on free version settings (what are those anyway?) was 3791. Let's see what happens with flash new 163.15 drivers for Vista 32 bit... -
I've just done a few driver installs. Having found out that I had the 101.19 drivers, here is what I got for a couple of quick 'n' easy benchmarks on my 8600M GT in my Asus G1S (Vista Home Premium, 2GB RAM)
3dmark06 (downloadable version, 1280x1024, no AA, "optimal" AF) - 3791
FEAR (will explain properly later, but everything on max except some AA, AF and soft shadows, native res for my G1S screen) - Min 20, Avg 37, Max 69: < 25 3%, 25-40 68%, >40 29%
Doom 3 (timedemo 1, all on max, native G1S resolution) - 36.5fps
Now with the 158.36 drivers installed, a BIG difference with FEAR
3dmark06 - 3858 (1-2% increase)
FEAR - Min 24, Avg 44, Max 78: < 25 1%, 25-40 62%, >40 37% (as much as 20% increase!)
Doom 3 - 38.9fps
I have just tried the 163.15 drivers, and if anything have seen perhaps a slight DEcrease in gaming performance.
3dmark06 - 3870
FEAR - Min 23, Avg 44, Max 77: < 25 1%, 25-40 57%, >40 42%
Doom 3 - 37.8fps
I still have to try the 165.01 drivers, but so far I'm pretty happy updating from the 101.19 drivers - BIG performance boost in FEAR. As for other games I don't know - those are the main FPS I have and play, apart from older ones like Serious Sam and Max Payne. -

click "help" --> "system information"
that will clearly list what driver you are using. -
Thanks in advance. -
Is anyone suing the 162.22 or 162.50 drivers?

How's it working for you? Any increase in performance? Any problems?
-
Yeah, I have problems with it and every single driver update I have done besides the stock drivers....which were fine for me.
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory's textures bug out more often with these drivers; 162.50
Command and Conquer 3 is also crashing more often.....Can someone please post drivers that DID indeed increase performance? -
Well then. Is anyone using the 162.22 driver?
-
I'm running the 162.22 drivers. The nvidia control panel is there, and overclocking is working it seems
-
So from what I can tell it seems 162.22 or 158.36 are the best drivers to use?
-
Any performance increase?
Any problems? -
Ok. I will be editing this post with all the drivers I have tried and my experiences with them. Keep in mind that the drivers I used are for Vista 32-Bit.
162.22 Increased performance immensely; frequent crashes in both F.E.A.R. and Command and Conquer 3
163.16 BSOD
158.45 Very stable; increased performance noticed -
My desktop---
Emachines T5226
Intel Pentium D 925 3.0GHz
1GB DDR2 533 RAM
nVidia GeForce 8400 GS 256MB +256 TurboCache
running Windows Xp Pro (hasta la vista vista!!!)
Driver 163.something (latest form nvidia website)
3Dmark05----3526
3Dmark06----1672
GamePerformance is much better than all the other drivers
Which drivers are you using for the 8xxx series nVidia cards?
