    Depends what you want. If you want some really scary then go with Amnesia (what I voted on).

    If you want really good story and gameplay go with BioShock.

    If you want decent story and pretty scary (not scary at all compared to amnesia) then go with Dead Space.

    Left 4 Dead is more co-op multiplayer zombie thingy.

    Btw, Amnesia is more s with your mind creepy F.E.A.R (first one) like scary while Dead Space is a little bit more monsters that ambush you and like that scary in a way. If you want the scariest game go with amnesia. Story is pretty good and it took me ages to play through because I was too afraid to play more than 20-30 mins at a time.

    Bioshock series ftw! L4D 1 and 2 are kinda dead now and Dead SPace 1 and 2 are awesome as well. Never played Amnesia.

    For a few cents more than the Dead Space pack, you can get both Bioshocks and Amnesia. If you're willing and able to buy the Dead Space pack, that means that fits within your budget, so I would say go for it.

    I've only played L4D once and I hated it, but maybe that's just me. Either way, I wouldn't recommend that series over the others you've named, and it appears that nobody else has either.

    Borderlands GOTY, for 7.49, great deal if you don't own it yet.
    Also, Bioshock (at least the 1st one) is awesome.

    Personal warning about Bioshock. The mouse input is terrible. It's literally like they've simply mapped mouse X/Y straight on the stick inputs. You have to fiddle with some ini files to make it work semi-properly.

    I've heard Dead Space is even worse than Bioshock in that respect.

    L4D Series isn't really dead but people are getting bored because it does have repetitive gameplay. However the community is still strong and at these cheap prices I am sure you will have fun for around 50-100 hours before you feel like "Meh."

    Amnesia will scare the crap out of you so if you know you get spooked easily and could never finish it, it might not be worth it.

    I've never had any input issues with Bioshock nor Dead Space. I played with vsync off.

    I had horrible problems with Bioshock. When I looked into it, it turns out that the game engine forces mouse acceleration, input lag reductiong (which actually does the opposite and also lowers FPS) and mouse smoothing, it has way higher sensitivity than any other game I know of to the point that it's still pretty twitchy at 1. I also had problems with input lag.

    I managed to half fix it by binding "W" to a command which forces acceleration off. As soon as there is a cut scene it re-enables which is pretty derpy. It's a crude fix for sure.

    check out STALKER and install the Complete 2009 mod. Its essentially a free-roam shooter, similar to Fallout, only with a darker atmosphere.

    L4D2 for sure. It's sure as hell not dead, and some of the custom campaigns for it are awesome. And it's getting all of the original L4D maps ported over (they've already done three of the four original campaigns, I believe).

    L4D1 and L4D2 have good replayable value. I mean, it's just so satisfying gunning down hordes of zombie, why wouldn't you get it for the discounted price? :D

    And as someone mentioned earlier, Borderlands is a great deal for the 7.49 price.

    If you want a scary game, I'd go with Dead Space 2.

    If you want a fun co-op game, go with L4D2.

    I personally did not like Bioshock, I've tried to finish/play that game 3 times so far and failed. I just can't get into it.

    I think I'll actually try and play L4D2, installing now. I've only got 2 hours played on it before I uninstalled it previously.

    Amnesia > Penumbra

    That is, if you can play it for more than 30 mins at a time. Terrifying

    This is actually a damn good suggestion. STALKER SoC and CoP with the Complete mod are excellent games, extremely cheap, and are very atmospheric, dark and scary. The underground sections will scare you, or at the very least make things quite tense, unless you're a jaded hipster like those who profess to hate Amnesia.

    However, out of the games in the poll, I would choose Amnesia. The whole game scared the crap out of me, and the atmosphere is incredible. Bear in mind that it has less replay value than the rest though, since gameplay is fairly basic and a lot of sequences are scripted, so you'll know what's going to happen on a second playthrough.

    I really hope Frictional hurry up and make a new game. ALL OF MY MONEY.

    Penumbra's excellent, but it trips over its control scheme occasionally (especially combat), and Requiem feels like a cop-out. Amnesia distills it down a bit on the gameplay and makes things a lot scarier. If you're going to get one, I would probably recommend Amnesia, but if you've got the cash and the time for both, I don't think many 'thinking-man' gamers would be disappointed by Penumbra. Basically, if you're not scared off by the fact that it's off the beaten path gameplay-wise, you'll probably dig it.

    You might actually want to play Penumbra first so the control scheme doesn't feel too clunky (as it might if you compared it to a previous Amnesia playthrough).

    Amnesia -> Scary (mind games)
    Bioshock 1/2 -> Story
    L4D1/2 -> Co-op
    Dead Space 1/2 -> Scary (annoying)

    If you plan on getting Bioshock Infinite, highly recommend Bioshock 1 and 2 then.

    Deals over :(

    Though I believe D2D still has Amnesia for $4 or $5
