Computer, Xbox, Gamecube, Playstation 2, or whatever else, what do you think is the best? I have to say Xbox. Supreme graphics over the rest of the gaming consoles, Xbox Live, a hard disk so you don't need those stupid memory cards, and games like Halo (and Halo 2 this November[ :D]! It will be the best game ever, period, it will not be beaten, ever.) put the Xbox on the top of my list.

Good things come in small packages.

    I agree,
To be honest up until recently I have always played my games on the pc and always thought that the pc was far superior for games. But I got an Xbox for xmas and have really enjoyed playing it. I still find the pc the best for 1st person shooters, but for everything else I now use my xbox !

I agree on the XBox take. I also think MicroSoft is going to score a major coup when it beats Sony and Nintendo to market with its next generation system by more than a year (MS is saying 2005 for the XBox 2, I forget the codename, Sony will be 2006 with the PS3). In addition, game developers are saying the next XBox will be highly desirable to develop for.

MS might actually pull into the left lane and overtake in this market.

A friend of mine just gave me their x-box, they got the new special edition one, so I've just started playing around with my new free toy. Don't have many games as of yet so if anyone has any suggestions.

I've always liked the XBox. Out of the box, it was just a better value: console, hard drive, and ethernet. I was a ;ittle disappointed I had to pay extra for the adapter for PS2 and I can't find the hard drive. I was even more disappointed that Nintendo didn't release their network adapter in the U.S. I thought the GameCube was going to be Nintendos come back...thought wrong.

Overall, the XBox does have the better graphics. It also has more of the games that older players want to play. Syphon Filter (PS/PS2) is good for the tenny-boppers, Ghost Reacon and Rainbow Six is more my speed. Although, I'm considering getting the new Syphon FIlter so I can play online; that might be a good thing.

Gatch, congrats on your new toy. My suggestion: Go pick up a new one (the early models had problems with the DVD drives) and put Linux on the one you got for free. Great learning experience and a little something different.

It did turn out to be true, the 360 beat the PS3 and Wii to market and gained a commanding lead in the next-next-gen market.
