I've made a few posts here, all the help has been great, i'm learning a lot. My goal is to be able to play Halo 2 PC on my Dell M1210. Its running windows VISTA right now on a nVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 card. I've lowered the game visuals and i've managed to make it run smooth and it actually doesn't look that bad. Online is great. Campaign has some lag when it gets intense but not enough to affect game play.
The one problem right now is that the game keeps quiting unexcpectedly. Does anyone know of a good graphics driver to download specificly designed for gaming for this card. Its the 64MB dedicated card and runs 32 bit. It says 64bit capable but i don't know how to change that or what the effects are.
    Any help is welcome. Thanks

Are you using the drivers that it came with? I have a Dell and I have a hacked driver because Dell never releases new drivers (do not want to support) general drivers (MFG) run into problems also and card MFG do not want to support w/OEM releases. I doubt Vista hacks are out yet. With my hack 3DMark score improved a lot but a Dell diagnostic would not let it pass a "check sum" test. So start w/Oem and go from there!

Oh yea not the same model but general info!

Well i tried to download a new driver from nVIDIA. http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
I went Graphics Driver ->GeForce 7 series ->Windows Vista 32 bit. I downloaded the driver but it says when installing that my system is not a 32 bit operating system. So i tried the 64 bit driver and the same message comes up. In my Computer properties page it says that its a "32-bit operating system". any solutions?

nvidia doesnt have mobile gpu drivers on their site, so dont use those as their intended for their desktop counterparts. I recommend sticking to stock or downloading Xtreme g mobileforce drivers from tweaksrus.com.

Halo 2 on the 7400 is a lost cause, I tried. It runs, but pretty poorly, I tried different drivers but it made maybe 1 frame of a difference.

yeah, ran like crap on mine but then i noticed that it was installing in the background as i was playing. On the bottom right in the main menu it says how much has been copied "32% copied" i just waited for that to finish and the game ran fine on lower specs.

The best drivers I've ever used are the ancient 80.40. But I can't get them to work anymore for some reason even with modded inf after I reinstalled XP. In comparison, with Company of Heroes - the difference is about 10-20 frame in the performance test results of minimum, maximum, and average. That's a big deal for a card like a Go7400 that's going to struggle on newer games. :(

What drivers are you using? I'm using 84.12 right now. The early to mid eighties are supposed to be the best optimized for the low end Go7x00 series...
