Well, I know you have posted before about those two cards and how they compare . . I wouldn't recommend either notebook for gaming purposes, but if you had to choose, the one with the 9600 would be better - not by much though.

The one thing the X200M has going for it is 128MB of dedicated memory. The 64MB 9600's future gaming potential will be very limited. Most games right now require 64MB. Even though the X200M isn't powerful enough to use all 128MB, it is still a good idea to have that amount.

Looking at them overall, I would take the HP. You get a better, cooler running processor, newer design, plus better build quality. Averatec's are known to be ~~ on the build.

EDIT: Just thought I'd ask - are you considering buying anywhere else?

that 9600 is a different laptop though, it has a pentium 4 3.0ghz processor in it and its about $70 more, so i really wanna know if that extra $70 is worth it.

ALSO: i wanna know how much better this is than my desktop it has:
NVidia geforce fx 5500 256mb pci
    736mb ram
    1.5ghz processor

    How much can you spend?

I haven't heard much on that store, you might want to take a look at www.ResellerRatings.com and see how they rank on there.

Check out the Compaq V4000t - cheapest notebook capable of playing games decently. www.HPShopping.com. If that is too much, then try eBay, there are some good deals to be had on there if you buy the laptop from a reputable reseller. ;)

The X200M is based off the X300, yes, but it is not as fast - the X300 has higher clocks, and an additional two pixel pipelines. The X200M has two pipelines.

The 9600 has higher clocks and four pipes as well.

You can find a x200m on a computer for around 600$. The ram upgrade would cost an extra 100$ for 2gb on newegg so shop around. See what deals are popping up on the internet.

My old laptop has the 64MB version of this. It is capable of paying CoH and CNC3 at low settings (I don't play FPS so I don't know). But unless newer cards. the 9xxx series only does WMV videor acceleration so it's quite limited. It does however work fine with the newest calayst drivers (though I use the modified ones from Omega).
