    I have Windows vista Home premium on my notbook and was wondering if I should either switch to windows XP or partition my hard drive and have both windows vista and Windows XP.

    Please HElp :)

    Windows XP. While the SP1 for vista really helped, it didn't improve gaming to XP's standard.

    yeah, i went back to XP a month or so ago and i gained ~15fps in counterstrike source.

    It also stopped some weird problem i was having with C&C generals

    you'll be limited to same range of performance unless you upgrade hardware. if you had bad drivers on the other hand you may experience performance boost with new drivers. the OS can only limit you so much.
