    Hi

A few days ago i ordered a toshiba p200 notebook
which should arrive this week, until it does i am
    currently using my fathers desktop.

Over the last few days i have installed a couple
of games on the desktop Doom 3, Star Wars KOTOR 2
and both games run very well on the desktop and i would
really like to know how well these games and other similar games would run on my new notebook compared to my fathers desktop.

Below are the basic specs of both systems

    My Notebook
    Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo T7250 (2.0Ghz)
    2048MB RAM
    256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600
    250GB HDD

    Dad's Desktop
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+ (2.11Ghz)
    2048MB RAM
    256MB ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro
    300GB HDD

    Thankyou

Thanks for all your help so far guys.

So basically what your saying is that the ATI HD2600
in my notebook is superior to the ATI HD2400 pro in my
fathers desktop and will run games and perform other
    various tasks better?

Also what are the main differences between the desktop
ATI HD2400 pro and the notebook ATI HD2600?

The HD2400 is considered an entry-level option, as far as dedicated GPUs go - it's only a cut above an integrated graphics processor. It'll take some of the load off of your CPU, but that's about it. The HD2600 is where you'll start to see some really marked improvement over an IGP.

The most significant is the numbers of Stream Processor. 120 of the HD2600 compared to the 40 of the HD2400. If I recall.. anything ATI with "pro" is the lowest end of that range (means it's lowest of all different version HD2400). Core clock and memory clock are different too, most probably the HD2600 having the higher clocks.

Yea.. basically the 2600 will be at least 1.5x more powerful than that desktop 2400
