    Hi all.
I'm searching a laptop for my friend and he is considering to buy one of these two laptops :

an Acer Aspire 6920G (the one I have :p)
    Windows Vista Home Premium,
    Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 (2.1Ghz)
    2GB of DDR2 667 MHz memory
    NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS
    320 GB hard disk drive
    Blu-Ray Disc Drive

    or an Acer Aspire 6920G-6A3G25Bn
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 (2Ghz)
    3Gb of DDR2 memory
    ATI Radeon HD3650
    250 GB hard disk drive
    Blu-Ray Disc Drive

I think the answer is pretty obvious, the second one has a better graphic card, but I wanted to be sure ^^ (I looked at the benchmarks of both graphic cards) and wanted to know if the processor would do a lot of difference in gaming.

depends on what version of the hd3650 that is, gddr2 or gddr3. If its ddr2, then they are about the same for gaming, if the 3650 is the ddr3 version, well..then you know lol
Those processors in gaming will be the exact same, however the t8100 is better overall because its a penryn, 45nm, more cache, cooler, faster by a tad, stick with what you have

for gaming, the second one would be superior.

however i pick the spec on the top one. better overall performance and spec for everyday task. if gaming is that important for your friend; then desktop might be a more sensible option.

in most games; processor wont help much in gaming. the weakest and most noticeable component is the gpu.

The processor is really the tie-breaker here, because, performance wise there is not much difference between the 3650 and 9500m gs....so go for the first one in my opinion..T8100 is better than T5750 and runs a lot cooler...also it has a faster FSB(by 133mhz) and an extra 1mb cache.

    Thanks for all the replies.
The hd3650 is the GDDR3 version so it kind of easily beats the nvidia 9500M GS in terms of performance.

yeah the system with the ATI Radeon HD3650 is definitely the better pick. Anyway the true bottleneck in a gaming laptop is the GPU. The C2D T5750 should be fine with today's games.
