    Which of this two nVidia Cards is best?

    Which is best video card nVidia GeForce 8600GS or 8600GT for gaming? Any body can give me a proven answer that one performs better that the other?

    the 8600GT is better. Search Geforce 8 Series on Wikipedia to find the differences.

    General consensus:


    8600M Gs- relativley good performance with the proper drivers, and very good powersaving options.

    8600M GT- an extreme powerhouse meant to tackle all of todays toughest gaming challenges. Faster card, becuases of double the stream processors, (32 vs 16), but a battery life killer.

    WOW. Do you think that it was not a good thing that I bought my laptop with the 86mGS? These are my laptop specs, tell me if it will be good for playing:

    - HP pavillion 9500t:
    nVidia GeForce 8600m GS 256RAM dedicated.
    2GB of system RAM
    Intel 7500 core 2 duo Processor 2.2GHZ.
    17" wide screen 1440x900 pixels
    160GB Hard Disk
    Altec Lansing speakers

    well if you are a gamer then you will definatly be wishing in a while that you went with the best option especialy in a laptop.

    but only if you want the most expensive games.

    they are both decent, the gt is better though.

    neither really kill the battery. they definitely draw more power than integrated. still, dynamically under clocked (idle) they aren't sucking down that much. i get 5 hours of battery life on my macbook pro ;)

    Hey, I have question: is there anyway to see how much Ram memory is my vide card actually taking? is there a tool that would allow me to monitor the GPU,RAM, etc. of my video card?
