Theres two laptops im particularly interested in and thats the Toshiba and the HP from Best Buy. Cant post links here but its on the best buy's doorbuster sales and theres 2 laptops i like, but idk which one would have better performance?

Which laptop would have better performance for gaming? The Toshiba has a Dual Core AMD TL-60 with ATI x1250 graphics 3gb ram and the HP has Intel Dual Core (not core duo) and Intel GMA 4500m and 2gb of ram.

Listen i know those machines arent meant for gaming, but its all i can afford, and im looking to play mainly L4D and COD4, and maybe WAW (they run on the same engine correct?) And probably many more games but maybe not as high. I saw this one guy here named Mr Bean and he has this on his profile
Is that possible!? thats almost the same specs, but the toshiba has higher.
Thanks for all your help, Eragon

I had a laptop with an X1250 and it could not even do Team Fortress 2 on lowest settings and have it be reasonably playable. Could have been a driver issue... I can't say how Mr. Bean gets those frames, but on personal experience, my guess is those high end framerates are looking at the sky :p

Neither will game well, and you will no doubt be starting on lowest settings, perhaps even having to get into FPS config files... Performance will be almost identical..
However, I think I would choose the HP with the GMA X4500.

Yeah, and you figure he's running those on 800x600 resolution, and frames are not great and probably are absolute highs. 20-30 FPS some people can handle, below 20 FPS and you're not going to be able to enjoy what you're doing.

Second the x4500. How much are these laptops?

Wait, i currently have a laptop from BF 2 years ago, the Toshiba with a 1.6ghz celeron, 2gb of ram and x200 and i play TF2 just fine at 1280 x 800! Getting 25fps+ are u sure it wasnt a bottle necking issue or something?

I would choose the HP also.
I heard somewhere around here that the intel x4500 can be compared with an 8600. And I like intel in laptops. Also you can always put a core2duo in to replace the dual core ;)

Like I said... could have been a driver issue. Did not pursue getting it to work and the system had stock Dell drivers, which obviously will be garbage. I think I was at 720x480, all settings low, getting ~30 FPS but had serious drops for no reason.

Overstatement. The X4500 performs at about 75% of an 8400M GS.

Agree. I have yet to see a Black Friday laptop that's actually a good deal. So far they're all just... terrible terrible laptops priced at about what they're worth. Unless these are 200-300 TOPS, not worth it IMO..

The Hp is 350, and comes with a 70$ printer, the Toshiba is $379, So you guys really recommend the HP? I always thought intel gma was crap and the ati x1250 would destroy it.

Buy the HP, sell the printer.
Though I am convinced for 400 you can get a better laptop for games (with perhaps Radeon 3450, 8600GS level chip)

X1250 = rebranded M200 = ATI's version of GMA. So not too good.

Newegg has a 14.1" Acer with a 9100m G for ~440 which is arguably better than the 4500mhd or the x1270.

EDIT: Link. Apparently they ran out of stock quickly....

It would either be used or refurbished, but Dell Outlet comes to mind for sure.
I'll take a quick look around. Watch the NBR marketplace, good deals come by ALL THE TIME.
I've seen lots of Inspiron 1520's with 8600GTs for sale for cheap here, that would be one of your best bets.

Well heres my predicament, I have spent most of my money upgrading my audio setup, and i basically have no money left, so my dad said he would put it on his credit card and id have to pay him back. He said i could only get a laptop at BF(hes old fashioned no online shopping), and the two that ive posted are the main two ive been looking at. I have always been wary of intel integrated cards, My ATI x200m is much better then my bros intel x3100( and the intel x3100 is supposed to be better then the x200), he also has a dual core proc, i just have a single core and im doing much better then him in any game. So my question is, Is the Intel 4500 that much better then the ATI x1250? I think the Toshiba would be better for gaming, but are you guys sure the HP is the best one?
