Hi, i just sold my old vaio and purchased the laptop seen in my sig for 1049 =).

I was just wondering which you think would run games better, and by how much.

and also if you think i was smart to get the system (only ended up paying 100 dollars out of pocket.. sold my old lappy for a good price)
    Old system

    Vaio VGN-FS660/w
    1.73 ghz centrino
    Nvidia Geforce go 6200
    1gb ram
    80gb 4200 rpm hdd

    Thanks.

Well the Go 6150, though sounding impressive is only an integrated card offering. They can run Vista but in terms of game play, you were better with the Go6200 just solely looking at the two GPU's. Everything else about your new system is better; more ram, faster HD, better processor, so in terms of a better system the second one.

Graphics-wise you aren't going to see an improvement. But the dual core will help where the P-M didn't equate.

    Thanks for your feedback.

I know the 6150 is a exxtremely low end card, im aware that it is an integrated card.

I was just wondering if you think i will get worse graphics performance on the new system v the old system because the old one had a dedicated gpu.

Games i ran on the old computer:
Half life 2- some settings at high, most at medium... ran smooth
    battlefield 2-- medium settings
    Guild wars- middle-high settings
    unreal tournament - medium-high settings

shold they run better, worse or about the same on my new system? thanks.

You'll possibly get worse graphics, as those games won't take advantage of the new dual core and the old 1.7 centrino is more then enough for those games...and of course the 6200 is better then the 6150.

I actually just got the same system and so far I've been pretty impressed with it. The Go 6150 is an IGP, sure, but it's a pretty friggin' powerful one compared to its peers.

The only one I know for certain how it runs is Guild Wars. I just installed Guild Wars Factions (just got it tonight!) and it runs pretty well at 1024x640, all settings high.

Understanding resolution is always a major player in game performance, the Go 6150 still seems especially vulnerable to it. It'll run FEAR and Doom 3 at 800x600, but God help you if you try running most games any higher than that.

You should be able to play all the games you listed with the Go 6150 except BF2, which will probably be very taxing on the system. I think you'll still get acceptable FPS if you turn down the settings, however.
