So I've been going back and forth about which video card I should get. Right now I'm between the Radeon X1400 or paying an extra $240 for the nVidia Go 7600. I do play games every so often, but I'm not hardcore or anything. A majority of the use for the laptop will be movies and video editing.

So I'm wondering, is it worth the extra cash for the better video card?

Also, how much battery useage will the two differ by? Will the 7600 use a significant more power than the x1400?

    Any help is much appreciated!

$240 is not worth it for only an upgrade from the x1400 to the go 7600. Are you comparing two different notebooks or the same notebook with only difference being the video card?

just get the x1400. it should be able to handle most graphics intensive games at low-medium settings w/ little to no lag. the geforce go will consume much more power and produce more heat because it is more powerful.

no the go 7600 won't consume much more power than the x1400 because it is still a lower midrange card. However, $240 for that modest boost is pretty unjustifiable. Besides, dx10 cards are already out so you might want to just get a different notebook with an 8400m gs or 8600m gt.

The X1400 is able to handle the graphic intensive games quite well, probably a *10 FPS* difference from the 7600?
