could the white macbook play empire total war or medieval total war and how well??? Ideally looking for people who have played teh game.
-
Those games are not available for mac. If you're into gaming (more than blizzard games) get a PC.
If you used Bootcamp you could play medieval but empire would slow a bit on a 9400. -
Empire total war would be unplayable IMO with the 9400 its struggles with the HD3670 and as its also cpu intensive i would personally write that game off.
-
planning to bootcamp it so doesnt need to be mac native
-
Total War with some setting's turned down. Empire probably not playable. Rome total war is excellent and would run fine.
-
Medieval could be very enjoyable. I would worry even with Rome, you'd have to turn alot down to be playable and these of games are defentaly more enjoyable at the higher graphics settings. Some would argue medieval is better than Rome anyway. Empire is a wetdream, I have my m17x almost maxed out ad I can't even max out the settings in that game
-
Rome is the most critically aclaimed Total war and probably the best in most Rts pureists view. I personally like Medieval best, found Empire bit crappy(looks nice though).
-
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
I'd say Rome should run ok. You can download a demo and try it out first!

There is a demo of Empire: Total War too. It ran OK on my Mobility 3450 at the lowest settings, but was ugly. The 9400M is faster, but not much.
-
I would definitely opt for Medieval rather than Empire.
-
sitting with a white macbook and dont really want to play total war, laptops get hot too easily. Not sure if its worth it.

Should've bought a PC.
-
The white Macbook can't but the black one can.
-
Each too their own. I own all three, I like them all equally! Try Rome Total War with settings turned down, should be ok. Medieval might be pushing it, and Empire is probably too far.
-
I reckon the laptop could handle medieval 2 fairly well, but i am just concerned about overheating. I used to have a PC but switched because they are how do you say ....erm......rubbish.

Out of the current OS's, nothing's rubbish.
It's the hardware options and pricing that makes one rubbish *cough*Apple*cough*.
As for overheating, is this a Macbook specific issue? No one ever complains about their laptops overheating when they play game... at least not PC's. -
its just when i hear the fan going i just don't feel great about it, usually with the macbook the fans not even on. I do agree that for what it is the macbook is overpriced but it is very very nice.
-
You don't purchase a Mac for playing games; you get them when you want to be highfalutin
-
Any other color than white will play them just fine.

They look beyond nice. I have suspicions that my friend bought his Macbook Pro just for looks.
But when the founds going it's not bad. My M17x is quiet until I start gaming. I would say this is normal for all laptops. -
White Macs are all the rage with college girls these days.
-
Medieval will play fine, although not maxed. Buy with the Kingdoms expansion and you have enough gaming, ang great mods (Stainless Steel and Third Age comes to mind) for years.
-
still wanting play it if anyone with an apple computer has had any success I would be interested in finding out.
-
-
thanks i've only done that few times before and found nothing, as you would have if you had actually looked at it once you were on it.
-
Jeez, why bother.. Get a real computer, especially if you are a gamer which you obviously are.. Mac are more expensive without really being better.. Stop being materialistic and think so much about how it looks.. Its the inside that matters

What you need to know has been said already.
You'll be able to play Medieval II, not in its full glory, but decently enough.
What more do you need?
Any person who plays Medieval II, any person in the right state of mind that is, doesn't do it on a Macbook.
White macbook, empire or medieval total war??
