Who actually uses their own cars in GTA4?

I was wondering because i spend ages trying to get a nice car.. and then i sit it outside my safehouse.. but never use it as i dont want to lose it in a mission and then have to save.. i'm bored atm.. hence this thread.. anyway post your reasons for why/not you use your own cars.

I use an in-game trainer where I can spawn any vehicle from the game, no problem. Other nice thing about it is that I can still unlock achievements unlike cheats from the cell phone which lock them. I can use the trainer to get $500,000 in seconds and unlock the achievement for it.

 

When I got an exotic car I just drive around in it close to a safehouse, then when I see another one I shoot the driver and manage to get it back into the lot. Then I have cars I can use and not worry about loosing. Of course most of the time im using a Land Rover because there pretty tough and fast, good for missions.

 

I already beat the game so i don't have to worry about using them during missions. Now i use the cars parked outside my safehouse all the time, and when i'm done i'll either just quit or fix it with the health cheat and save it at another safehouse.

 

I usually drive the Infernus given to me by Florian Cravic/Bernie Crane on behalf of Bryce Dawkins for completing all of his missions.

I can't help trashing every nice car I get my hands on...

I've tried to make nice cars last, but they set on fire everytime... I guess I'm a violent driver...

 

I do that sometimes too. I'll fly through traffic and then pick something to crash into or a jump, and see how badly i destroyed the car.

 

i don't have any cars outside my safehouse, i usually go through 3-4 cars on a mission, so any nice car i find is usually bashed up....

 

wow, i would just stop a car and kick the driver out and run away with it.lol

 

I am always tossing grenades out of the cars I ride in GTA IV and occasionally I miss calculate and blow my own car up so they never last very long.

Add to that the crashes that are common at high speed rampages through the streets then it is not worth keeping any cars as my own.

All your cars are belong to us.

 

Hmmm... purple elephant! Actually, I just drive a random car to the upscale part of town and jack a ferrari/viper if I really want the speed.

 

The cars that spawn are partially determined by what you're driving. It's kind of funny, actually; I was driving my Infernus on a mission, and on my way across Algonquin I saw at least 6 other Infernuses (Inferni?).

If you drive nice cars, more nice cars are likely to spawn.

 

I had this issue on the PC and 360 versions where sometimes, a lot of the same time of car would spawn. I had thought it was because of the limited memory of the 360 but it is in the PC version too. Well, maybe Rockstar didn't take advantage of the extra RAM the PC has to offer, it is a straight console port after-all.

That, combined with an in-game car spawner, make GTAIV much more enjoyable IMO.

 

What vehicle spawner are you using? and where from do you obtain your cars (gtaplace?)

When I'm going to try a mission I don't use my own cars, but when I just play for fun I do, because I never save the game.

One question... I have my own car? What is this "self owned" car you speak of?

 

You can "save" a car by parking one in your parking spots right in front of your safe houses

 

are there mods for more parking spots?

 

I'm currently using the spawner included with the GTAIV Simple Native Trainer v3.9.

Are most of these reskins based on the original model in the game? e.g. does the hummer h1/h2 reskin work on the patriot (hummer), or do they completely replace the skin with a different vehicle?.. if that makes sense

i get what ever car is in my reach and do this to them i mostly get big cars they do good damage for exp.trucks....suv's etc look pics below what i do to the cars.....
