not looking to buy, already have it. Purchased it used, but my case came only with a CD 1 and CD 2. I thought there was also a bonus DVD (and possible something else?)

Also, this game won't install on Vista. I read that Windows Defender and Office 2007 interfere with the autorun install process. I'll have to troubleshoot this problem later on.

I have it, but no it didn't come with a special DVD. Or at least mine didn't.

I had issues installing it at first as well. I don't know what it is that I did, but I tried it again and got it to install and play fine. I just beat it yesterday, as a matter of fact.

here is how you by-pass the auto install... install it manually... did on my brother's computer (he had Office 2007 installed), worked well...

    - go to your local "C" drive
    - create a new folder and call it "Disk Images" (must have space, without quotation marks)
    - within this folder, create a new folder and name it "Disk1" (no space)
    - copy all the contents on the COD2 CD1 to this folder - Disk1
    - now, go back to "Disk Images" folder, and create a new folder, call it "Disk2"
    - copy all the contents on the COD2 CD2 to this folder - Disk2
    - now go back to "Disk1" and find the installation execution file, most likely be "setup.exe" or "install.exe"... and double-click to install the game.
    - if error messages pop up, saying that some .iwd files are missing, ignore them, continue with the installation until it's finished.
    - don't start the game yet, we have to take care of those missing files, go to Disk2 folder, find those .iwd files (COD2 main game files), and move them into the COD2 installation directory, in the "main" folder, that's where all the game files will be.
    - do this for all the CDs you have, that is if you have the COD2 5-Disc edition.

once those files are copied and moved to their corresponding directory, you can now play the game.

NOTE: This method of creating virtual image CD folders work on almost all games that have multiple CD discs, if the auto-run is crewed up or it won't run.

alright, now even though my windows vista was a fresh reformat without Office 2007 installed, i still couldn't install. maybe windows defender interfering or incompatibility with Vista (which I find odd since the older CoD installs and plays just fine)

so i followed your steps for a manual installation and now the game works fine. i did not get a error message for .iwd files so all I had to do was run the setup.

Can I delete the contents of the Disk Images folder now that the game is installed? the files take up a ton of space.
