    Hey guys,

Just curious here, who still plays CoD:MW2? If you're interested in partying up and playing together, feel free to add me on Steam! My username is agp423. I'm running a clan, so if you're interested in joining, that'd be great. If not, playing with fellow NBRers is good too! :)

    Thanks all

you should try... its awesome.. although i don't know what ppl have with it.. IMO its better the MW1 except for IW net... they do need dedicated servers... latency wise , i have no problems... lagg occurs 1-2 times maybe in 20 games or so...

Yea, I MW2 is a huge step up from MW1 in terms of gameplay in my opinion. Although the lack of dedicated server is a minor issue every once in a while, you get used to it really fast.

Feel free to add me man, I'd love to talk about cars while shooting people :D

Do ppl still play MW2?? Gamespot doesn't list it in its most played online category! It lists BFBC2 at #1

I was thinking of picking up BFBC2 back home for $20 :)

Maybe i'll pick this up as well!

It's a fun game but it needs dedicated servers.

There is LOTS of lag... the game just masks it.

Hey guys, do me a favor, I'm here to make friends on Steam, not to argue which game's better. If you'd like, please start a thread and title it "Why MW2 Is A Bad Game." But as far as I know, that's not the title of my thread. Thanks.

Threads are funny things. They tend to take on a life of their own. BTW, your question almost invites those who no longer play to explain why.

    Like this:

I havent' played MW2 since BC2 was released. I think IW.net is trash.

What? MW2 and Counter-Strike have absolutely nothing to do with each other, outside of the fact that they're both first-person shooters. By your logic, I could say that Counter-Strike is just a nooby version of Halo with no health and overpowered sniper rifles. :/

And yeah, I play MW2 almost every day. I think you already have me on Steam, but if not, here you go.

The only problem is that if you don't have a 4 bar connection, there is no point in playing the game. 3 bar connection = your enemies see you for much longer than you see them, and you will generally die first in a direct confrontation.

I like it because it runs smooth on pretty much whatever laptop you are running. Ran into some blatant cheaters here and there, but I find it more of a challenge and kind of fun using riot shield against them. Still a great game for the pc...great gameplay and graphics.

You said MW2 is an "ADD spam fest version of Counter-strike". I don't know what you call it, but I say that implies that you're comparing them apples to apples. Anyway, I think MW2's a good game with plenty of innovation.

I still play CoD MW2 ! :D It's a great game. When i bought BF:BC2 i thought "yea CoD is a gonner now" but then if you play BC2 for awhile you miss the fast paced actions in CoD MW2. So i started playing it again and now im addicted to it with the new Stimulus package. Brings back the good old memories and new ones like the maps Storm and Salvage which i love!
Btw if anyone wants to add me on Steam, my account is chlwotjd678 (same as my NBR account) :D

it's weird. in cod4, i could only stand playing hardcore mode. but in mw2, i can't stand playin hardcore TDM for the life of me. it's so boring cuz of the yawn campers. most guys literally sit in one damn spot the whole entire map and end the map with single digit kills. how could anyone play like that? that crap is so boring it pisses me off.

i just got that stimulus pack or whatever this morning. it's actually alot better than i thought it would be. i didn't care too much for overgrown cuz all the camping snipers, but i enjoyed crash. the 3 new maps are also pretty nice. all in all, the $15 bucks was pretty well spent. :D

Same here, I used to play regular CoD4 when it just came out. Then my friend told me to try some hardcore, and I did... I never played another non-HC match again, unless I'm trying to learn new maps like Chinatown and such. In MW2, these giant maps and delayed respawn screams nothing but camping in HC, so I don't even bother... Lol and I would rather get 20 kills and 20 deaths by rushing my butt off than 5 kills and no deaths but sitting by our spawn and waiting for someone to stop by :D

Wow you translated my feelings exactly :D . You do miss the fast paced action of MW2 after playing the more strategic BF:BC2 for a while. Which shows how different the two games are really. Still doesn't help that the MW2 PC game is overpriced  , ohh and that it lacks a few PC essentials (dedicated servers, better anti-hacker system, etc). Anywhoooo, both are very fun games in their own respects. I have MW2 for PS3, but PS3 is not here with me at school :( :p , however I'm taking full advantage of these much-appreciated MW2 free multiplayer weekends provided by Steam. Keeps my MW2 hunger at bay until I can return home to my PS3 (BC2 helps a lot too)...Thank You Steam!

Sorry, but Call of Duty : World at War map packs added more stuff to the game (especially zombie modes) and they were free.....IW isn't getting any money from me for few maps, that should be free

I would consdier buying only, if there were new weapons or perks.

Right, because MW2 needs more hilariously imbalanced perks and guns. :p

Last night, I went on a knifing spree using nothing but a M9 tactical knife, Marathon + Lightweight + Commando on freaking Wasteland, the most wide open map in this game, and went 45-6. I had two AC-130's, and if I had the tactical nuke enabled I would have won my very first.

exactly if your going to charge for something like that on the pc, you need variation in modes, perks, guns, equipment, etc. Reguardless I still play the game (after a 2 month break). Currently I am just relearing everything, but I tend to run around the map randomly with smg/lightweight/marathon because I am finding that taking it seriously got boring, and I will NEVER get a tactical nuke. I see almost no hackers like before, the maps are getting really old, but again I could buy a full blown game (or two!) for 14.99....

I used to play MW2, but then I realized how unbalanced and boring it would get. Like i would always play Hardcore S&D ever since Modern Warfare 1, and my biggest biggest BIGGEST gripe is One Man Army and Noob tubes at the beginning of the round. Just ridiculous that theres no Invincibility timer at the beginning of the rounds. Also kids who use Modded controllers with the FAL and how crazy powerful the UMP45 was. Lol now I play Battlefield Bad Company 2, Just Cause 2 ( Just Cause 2 is an amazing sandbox game ), or L4D2 with some pals.
