For some reason, the y510p with all those faults (cute form factor SSD, may or may not have optimus, SLI "goodness" etc) and "lightweight" (1-1.5lb less with 6cell vs 8cell) 765m models seem to be the most discussed/ looked upon when look at mid-high range machines.
I remember a years ago, 16f3 with 570m was the killer with its price/performance, but it seem that's not the case any more?
Any one mind explaining ?

Poor taste? not enough knowledge regarding power?

Lower TDP, lower power consumption, much faster clocks, more shaders, new architecture, cheaper, and it's embedded. 765m will outperform the 192-bit 670mx by a fair amount. The "best bang for the buck" GPU always changes with each iteration. This time around it's the 765m.

770m being sold near 1100 is a good option, and its a 10-15% faster as well

Why 770m (clevo) did not become the flavor of the month?
