I have a 120 GIG HD and 1 GIG of ram, but on long flights with add on aircraft I run out of memory and flight sim shuts down, this happens on the 8 hour flights, and my PMDG addon aircraft have had their FMC data base wiped out, what is going on?

wrong forum, I'd check and see what all process you have running, and disable those you dont need
-
The weird thing is I'm not doing anything different, the only thing is now the memory issiues, and my HD is 60% clear, lots of room, I don't get it.

How do you know you are running out of memory? Open the task manager and see how much is being used. FS shouldn't use that much . .
I'd also check for any patches/updates to the game, they could fix problems and issues like this. -
What size is your pagefile set to?
If you really run out of memory, the game most likely has a memory leak. Check if there's a patch that fixed is.
Otherwise, increase the size of your pagefile. (Although Windows normally does that automatically) -

sounds like you might benefit from another gig of ram. If I were you I'd try reinstalling the game or reformatting first

If he gets an actual out of memory error, buying more ram won't help.
The OS uses the pagefile to make it look like you have a full 4GB memory, so if you run out of memory, so even if you had, say, 4 MB ram, the app would in theory *still* run. Just veeery veery slowly because everything would be constantly swapped in and out of memory
But if if app runs out of memory and crashes, there's something wrong. -
Would a PC Dock pro work to fix this problem as every other profram works just fine but flight sim is still screwed up even after reinstalling, I took a flight out of KSEA to PHNL with an add on aircraft, and the frame rates dropped like a stone 15 minutes into the flifgt, do you think fs is screwed up?

Do you have the patch?
1gb of RAM seems enough for FS2004, try lowering your video settings a little bit.
Also sometimes add-on aircraft can cause issues in the games stability, but without them FS would suck. -
the weird thing is addons have worked great before.

This is a common problem with Flight Sims. If you roll out at Angels 30 without proper O2...phitt, there goes the memory...
What?
Sorry

Why all of the sudden am I running out of memory when I run flight simulator?
